Today when reversing out of my driveway got the camera malfunction. Reeboted idrive but then when trying to reverse it would just continue to show my google maps which I had on.

Got to my destination and I turned the car off to see if the parking spot I found didnt have any no standing signs near it. Got back to the car and started it and the backup camera was working.

Now Im wondering if this will be a recurring issue constantly. Has anyone had this issue? What causes it? Anyone have this issue and it didnt ever come back after rebooting i drive and turning the car off?

Same thing happened to me. Pulled in to garage and got the error, pulled out in the morning and the error was gone.

Happened to me once. Seems like these things happen more frequently than not with since we are basically driving computers.

Got this same message today after coming back to my X6 2 hours after gym. Rebooted drive and now it won’t even show the “malfunction” message. Can’t even press the “P” button on the console to get the 360* view and another message saying “automatic parking functions are no longer available”.

It did just snow a lot yesterday - so I’m thinking maybe with the low temp (only 27* which isn’t even that low) & ice those may be the culprits? Though all the cameras were clean and it’s never happened to me before under the same conditions.

Will see how it is in the AM. Did the issue resolve itself for anyone?

*Update* figured I’d do an experiment using the Remote View option through the App. Despite some blurriness I assume from the frost & such, I am getting a full 360 degree view from all 4 cameras, so it appears the cameras themselves are functioning. Don’t want to hop in the car and try it yet as I’ll let the system full reset/ reboot overnight.
