My friend at the local dealership just sent me photos of a 2024 that just went through service and is ready to be taken home.

I’m in the market for an X6 with a non black exterior and interior, with a factory installed hitch and other upgrades.

This Black on Black X5 has all of the options that I’d want in the X6, but it’s the wrong color (and could use all-season tires).

Can someone be my voice of reason here and tell me it’s ok to let this near-perfect spec go? Also, how long are lead times for custom orders?

I’m leaning that way- but instant gratification is the devil, especially if there’s a factory trailer hitch 😅

No don't do it. The shape of the car and the color are what you see every day. If they aren't what you want, don't do it. You will on regret every time you see another X6, especially X6 with the color you want. This car is expansive, and it will stay with you for a while, why not get what you want.

I found a spec with Bowers, but was carbon black... very much wish it was ANY other color. It constantly looks dirty

If the X6 is what you really want and you want to avoid black, stay away from this tempting instant gratification X5. Remember, a moment on the lips, forever on the hips.

I once bought a black Audi TT roadster off the lot because the sales manager made me a deal that was too good to pass on. I loved the car, but never fell in love with the color -- too hard to maintain. I should have waited for a color I loved, and you should too.

This is a good opportunity to practice delaying gratification. It is almost always better in the long run to delay gratification. Wait and get what you will enjoy for years instead of 2 days of pleasure and years of regret.

Nothing looks as good as black sapphire metallic when it’s clean, imo.

My Black Sapphire Metallic X5 is never clean. It’s literally dirty after being washed. $800 Xpel ceramic coating does nothing.

If you can’t overlook constant dust. Don’t get it. I regret buying mine off the lot, with a great deal. I should have waited.

Thats a beautiful car but it isn't what you want. You will regret it so badly everytime you see something that is more like what you wanted.

Don't do it. Too much money to spend for something you don't really want, and its clear you don't really want it if you have to pontificate over it like this.

Now in status 150, production date 04/28/23

This is a beautiful X5. Black looks great. If I were you I’d take this over an X6. What color did you want? Black needs a couple of extra washes, but how hard is that? I see people with BMWs wash their cars the same, no matter what color they buy!

Black M Sport with black interior looks great. IMHO. Go for it!

Oh. If you plan to buy and keep for a long time then wait. If this is a lease/rent - then just get this if it has everything else you want.

The design of the x5 creates a lot of dust- the back of the car is dirty right after it’s driven.

I used to think silver was an easy color; I think this new blue green launch LCI color might be even more forgiving. I’ve seen a few in the wild and no swirls and interesting color
