Hopefully will get some more posted in the next couple of weeks. Waiting to make a full post with photos once I’ve gotten it over to the detailer for PPF, tint, and ceramic as well as having all my IND items installed.

What brand PPF R you going to use, I believe U mentioned just the front, does that include any of the wheel well areas? how about the side rocker panels? Thinking about having the front done also, not sure what I'm going to find in Tucson. The color really pops in the sun, nice bold color

Looking forward to it! What are your initial thoughts? Is the engine as subdued as others have complained? I know you haven't been able to really push it yet as you're still in the break-in period but what are your first impressions?

The shop I’m going with uses Xpel PPF. They offer both 8mil and 10mil thickness but I’ve opted for the 8mil. I’m doing what they call their track package which covers the bumper full hood, front fenders, headlights, a pillars, side mirrors, rocker panels, front and rear splash guards, and door handle cups.

I’m absolutely loving it so far! I haven’t gotten to push it at all since I’m still in the break-in period but I can tell it will provide enough get up and go to have the occasional fun on the daily commute. I’m still getting used to the auto start/stop but I can say that this is one of the smoothest applications of it due to the mild hybrid setup.

The exhaust is super weak for a V8. The only time I feel like I am driving a V8 is at the initial cold start and even that is pretty subdued. A Mercedes GLE AMG63 S pulled up next to me yesterday and his sure sounded a hell of a lot nicer than mine. Funny enough though, my wife is super happy that the X5 isn’t at all loud like my M3 before this. She’s hoping I don’t do anything to change that either.

Thanks! Just the info I was looking for, FYI I did a bunch of driving around town yesterday, used Sport for some of it, makes a noticeable difference, both sound and performance. Definitely not an AMG V8 tone or Porsche GTS, but a tad better than Comfort, (and no start-stop), plenty of git-up and go for a 5,300 lb. vehicle, just a little stelth!

I’ve got about 200 more miles to go before I unlock the full power range…I’m trying to be patient and keep it in comfort mode during this time but I might just have to play with Sport/Sport+ a bit. Glad to hear it livens up a touch.

That is crazy. The truck must have run into some sort of delay whether it be with the truck itself or during one of its other stops.

.
Of course even though it is unlocked you don't want to use it all until you finished the break-in period.

It sucks that when I finally buy a V8 it's not going to sound like a V8 lol. I'm coming from a twin-turbo V6 in my RS5 Sportback that was also not the loudest but had a nice start up and growl so I'm sure I'll be happy with my X6MC. My next vehicle will more than likely be electric so this was my last hoorah!

The X6MC will definitely have more V8 growl than the M60i. It will still be tamed down compared to a Merc GLE 63S but should give plenty of noise. Plus there will be a lot more aftermarket options for the X6MC than an M60i.

I’m going to pickup on 29th or 30th. Since we are closing the house on 29th and can’t apply for the new loan until then.

Congrats on your Java Green aka Hulk. Just waiting for your summary thread to make the front page. I’m going to miss the V8 growl going from a F95 ZCP to M60i, as sport and sport + might make a small difference, but still no X5MC growl. Too bad that BMW has totally locked down coding with the secure token, as coding maybe could have solved some of the silent V8 issues, but it’s BMW preparing us all for the silent EV’s that we can’t escape.

Thanks! I’ll make a thread with some more photos once I get it in for tint and ceramic next week.

Agree with regards to the coding. Disappointed we can’t even do the minor tweaks that BimmerCode had to offer like turning off ASS, etc. 😔
