Finally "In Transit" now. Holding the vehicle at port for a minor accessory is preposterous.

Picked up my car yesterday. Tried negotiating for the base rate, but settled for the .0004 markup and free ceramic window tint.
Something that bothered me is CA showing a number that I agreed to, then signing on a final number that had lower monthly than was agreed to (by hardly $15, but that adds up). Then finance guy showing a number that was $6 monthly more than the last quote from CA. All those numbers still didn't align with what I saw on the online calculator from Edmunds.
A few dollars here and there don't matter, but it gives me a reason to doubt that something isn't right.

There will be quite a lot to learn about the car. Didn't have enough time for the BMW guy to explain everything before the car had to be taken away for installing the tint.

Had to drive back home during rush hour, so didn't get a chance to enjoy the drive because of the traffic. Driver seat felt very firm and I felt a bit of a back ache (got climate comfort package with ventilated seats, so maybe that makes the seats firmer), while my wife was feeling more comfortable on the passenger seat than our Audi A3. Maybe once I adjust the seats to my liking and find the sweet spot, my opinion might change.
HUD seems a bit low, even at the max height. I am 5'8" and generally prefer to sit low, and had to raise the seat a bit more than I would like, to be able to see the HUD after raising the projection to the maximum height.

Self parking was mind blowing. Yet to try rest of the features.

Loving the car overall.

Yes, I will upload soon. It got dark by the time we got the actual possession of the car. Didn't get a chance today. Will share it tomorrow.

Called BMW today about delivery date and got an ETA of "arrive at Processing Center" around 12/18.
Any idea where is this "Processing Center" for Northern CA?
Hope to take her home before Xmas

Don’t know how to upload pics here. Added pictures to my album. I was concerned about tartufo being too bright, but it seems to go nicely with the Blackwood trim.

Is that a normal time for a vehicle to remain at port?

Mine just went to QC and am hoping to have before Christmas and more importantly by end of year.

Yes, that is fairly normal. Keep in mind though that spoodle is on the West Coast so At the Port is due to train travel. Since you are in NYC yours will go directly from the factory to your dealer without going into the At the Port status. The exception to that is if you have accessories on your build then it will go to the Accessories Center to ave them installed and it has been taking up to 3 - 5 days.

Unless you have some unusually long delays in QC or waiting for a carrier you will have no problem getting it in that timeframe.

How long does the vehicle normally remain in QC for? Should I be concerned that it’s been there for 2 days? Was thinking if nothings wrong it would have moved through that stage quickly.

Thanks

The majority of them stay in for a few hours but it is not uncommon to have them in there for three or four days or even longer. They don't keep a stockpile of parts at the factory so anything that needs to be replaced needs to be ordered and shipped.
