No more Climate Comfort Package option?

I was about to put in an order for a '24 50e today and was told that I can no longer order the Climate Comfort package. It is still in the configurator, but not able to be ordered per my Advisor. Any thoughts? Is this a limitation on the changes he is trying to make on their allocation order? It essentially means no option for:

- 4 zone A/C (its a $90k car, but no 4 zone climate?)
- massage (I wanted these, but requires Climate package to add it!)
- ventilated seats (not a huge deal)

I can add Heated seats options separately.

Anyone else experience this by chance? Not sure if this will be a deal breaker or push me to an x7 which has all of them available

If so, very recent. My week 51 build has it, climate comfort, massaging, etc. If so, could be anyone that will be officially in 2024 after the factory closes for end of year. I can't imagine them removing this from the X5 but perhaps if the X7 has it all. I see more X7s here where I live in TX versus X5s now... seems larger is more popular still with Audi Q9 is coming out likely next year, etc.

So this would be an early Dec allocation o would put in tomorrow, changing on of their about to be built allocations for Dec. he said when he tried to add it, it didn’t allow him to do it. Said it’s not available any longer. Maybe I should raise a bigger stink?

Dunno. Seems there were shortages mid-year as well of climate comfort so ordering was stopped for a bit too.

https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...2014154&page=3

Perhaps BMW wants it all fully loaded to add it for the highest price orders... the M60s, 50e, ones with executive package also, etc. They seemed to limit as thread above says to those two models that cost more in general also, perhaps to avoid losing those sales for sure.

We have not heard of a recent production constraint on it but it certainly can be true. We will likely hear of more if it once again was pulled.

Is this a dealer stock order already in the queue that can be changed to meet your spec? If so, the SA may be BSing you.

Ugh. I have one with climate control that I ordered several weeks back currently in 112 status without an actual production date yet. TurtleBoy, from your experience do you think It will be included in my final production or is there a chance they can remove it given it hasn’t moved to production yet?

Thanks

It definitely can be removed but at this point there is nothing that says it will be. I think we got a bad report of a current shortage for the 50e's.

Correct all. Apologies as my SA was wrong. I pushed back today and he realized that the shortage means they no longer can config Comfort Package on any 40i bit it is still available on the 50e and M60.

Thanks for the update, that makes sense. Dealership personnel are often confused.

Thanks for confirming. I'd probably refuse delivery if it got/gets yanked from my 50e order and find a used one or alternative.

I can confirm that my 2024 LOADED x5 does NOT have rear climate control. I was floored when i took delivery of the car. My 2024 50E i got rid of had it so it was not a thought when i built the 40i

Does this mean you can't get ventilated front seats on a 40i right now? Really lame if so.

Seems so on a 40i. You can still get front/rear heated, armest/steering wheel heated, and even massaging seats, all as separate options - but just not the 4 zone control, and ventilated front.

My dealer placed an order for me for the climate comfort package (S0ZRC) on 12/4/2023 on a 50e.

To clarify - it’s available on 50e and M60. It’s not avail on 40i. That’s been this way for months. Hope that helps. My original question was when my CA told me it was unavailable on the 50e and he was incorrect. The configurator has the latest.

So the odd thing is if you option the massaging seats to the 40i, it puts the full Climate Comfort package on the build automatically (with ventilated seats), at least on the configurator. I think they don't have massaging seats without the ventilation. The 4-Zone climate is also available as a stand alone option.

For the LCI, the massage seats require ordering the multi-contour seats and the Climate Comfort package for the 40i's and 50e.

It’s back - adding 4zone standalone wasn’t an option in December. Seems supply coming back.
