Are you sure gle has enough air vents? I think it needs some more.

Gle looks nice from outside as do almost all new Benz. I just don't like their disco interiors.

Hey, if can be a cold world out there. You never know when you're going to need those vents.

This is cool. The car can 'rock' itself out of sticky situations using the equipped air suspension.

Are you sure that's the air suspension?

Jokes aside this is seriously cool (but useless for most of target customers).

If anything I hope it makes bmw up their suspension game.

That combined instrument cluster and infotainment screen is terrible. It looks like somebody bought an aftermarket monitor and just bolted it on. Also, somebody tell Mercedes that the Porsche Cayenne called and wants its center console grab handles back.

I’ve never been a fan of the GLE back side windows. It looks like its an afterthought...or like its wearing a backpack. I also agree with the others here on the interior.

The X5 interior to me is WAY more upscale looking than the new GLE. The GLE is a mess!

To be fair, the GLE looks better with the AMG line in my opinion. The X5 shown above seems to have the M sport package if I'm not mistaken. These packages that are offered really make the cars look more appealing. I've never had a car without one of them before. They just look too "base" looking without them. It's nice to have options from different brands just to cross shop.

Yes They totally ripped off the cayenne center console handles.

And I can't stand their large lcd that isn't quite a single screen cos they are too cheap infotainment system. And command system just sucks from when I rented one. I couldn't get a Benz of this reason.

I sat in the current E and wtf with the purple theme. Looks like a bangkok bar.

Not only is it not an option but I just hate benz interiors. And for me interior is one of the top priorities so the only other car I would want is a cayenne and its interior is way better but but just way too expensive to equip it similar to an x5 like 50k more.

I am curious about the 3rd row space comparison in each and the access to them. Also the 48v systems in the MB seems very interesting and should have some real world mileage benefits albeit just by a bit.
Also curious if the MB PHEV comes with a 3rd row.

3rd row and the 2nd row seats look shockingly low quality.

i mean look at those 90s seats. do they really need to be 6 inches thick?

Americans are fat. The seats need to fit their love handles.

It should also finally make start-stop bearable and significantly smoother.

LOL! I wonder if they will offer the slim euro seats with the multicontour feature.

I've been waiting for the new G05 because the 3rd row is supposed to be better where you can actually sit there... looks like the 2020 GLE has a third row now? Has only been the GLS model right?

Update... 2020 GLE now offered with optional 3rd row.... Well I know what my wife will like...

3rd Row

Pretty sure adding the 3rd row removes the adaptive m suspension? Msport package is great but what's the point if you remove it by adding the 3rd row?

heh, I've always liked the GLE rear side windows, they're unique, slims up the rear quarter and distinctive of the M class. Also great for rearward visbility. But yeah, you're right it does look like it's wearing a backpack. =)

Good start of the comparison

https://www.motor1.com/news/265670/2...le-comparison/

Versus it's two main competitors: the Q7 and new X5. I do have to question whether the new X5 will actually have more cargo room though. The 2018/2019 GLE seems to have a bigger cargo area than the F15 (not to mention a touch more rear-seat legroom) so I would think that with the 3-inch wheelbase stretch the 2020 GLE is getting, there would be even more room than the new X5, which appears to have had its cargo area shrunk a tad from the F15 models.
