Just picked up mine. I love every material I've noticed except for the standard dash. It's a little plasticky and not terribly nice.
Having said that, I came out of a F15 X5 with the standard dash. Traded it in a few hours ago and I already forget what the dash looked like. Which justifies my decision not to spring for the leather. No one will notice. It's fine. Not great, not terrible. I'm not going to tell you what to spend your money on, but personally I'm glad I paid for side window shades (which will be useful) over a piece of leather (which will not). |

I personally think BMW downgraded some of the materials used in the dash from the 2016 X5 to the 2019 X5 - most noticeable are the dashboard and the seat belt fabrics. Those were my first visual and texture observations as I entered the 2019 X5, sat down, and put my seat belt on. I do not have leather dash nor do I regret not ordering it.
The center console is a fingerprint magnet and shows it... Perhaps the glass upgrade would be a practical upgrade. The other observation is the screen, software, processing power to manage the 360 camera are amazing - just speed of backing up and how far/much you can see. Stunning.
