Not a dinosaur expert.
The context of that image is two juvy gators sitting in shallow water.

You are correct in that they will very nearly reach equilibrium with it's surroundings. Though the canopy of trees will be absorbing the sun and therefore be of a different temperature.

My esteemed Floridian brother from another mother pointed out that from the darkest point in that top image to the brightest point in that image is only a 10 degree F difference. Yet the image shows a HUGE contrast. A far greater contrast than when much warmer human is in the second image, thus expanding the scale.

The capability of the IR is very sensitive and will easily show the slight difference between a very large dino and it's surroundings. But clearly not that uber smart GMD.

Rode 40 miles and climbed 1700 feet on Saturday. Then on Sunday did 20 miles on the same trail i'd been on many times before. Ended up averaging 1.5mph faster than ever before on that section of trail. I feel like they're getting stronger, but i'm not seeing much of an aesthetic difference, other than a touch more definition.

Cardio is a whole other story. I'm probably in the best cardio shape of my life and only after 4 months of steady riding. Funny though, i was riding with the wife the other day and she wore her HR monitor. I AVERAGED 158bpm and her MAX on that ride was 143bpm. lol I guess after 9 years of competitive riding you tend to have a solid cardio fitness base.

40 miles and 1700 feet of elevation being called hills.

But I am just messing with you.

I hear ya. Yeah, my legs say they're hills. lol

In July during my Montana ride there is one 78 mile day with a 32 mile sustained climb up a 6% grade. That's sandwiched in-between 5 more 50 to 70 mile days with an average of 2000 - 6000ft of climbing a day.

So i figured if i'm going to get 3 or 4 days with 2000ft of elevation over 50 to 70 miles in the mountains of Montana, 1700ft over 40 miles in FL qualifies as hills.

Yea, it's all relative. I try to think about 100 feet of gain per mile is good. However, the local trails I ride around here average a bit more than than. I am not in good shape nor am I a good climber. I "attack" climbs with energy conservation in mind thus limiting me progress and gains as I do just enough to get by.

Last time I climbed to this trail non stop, I went down without resting. Big mistake. You can see how it rides the edge of a "cliff" and there were many times that I had to sit down because I was getting so tired, haha

Looks like a ton of fun! But maybe i should have clarified that i'm talking about road biking. And nothing like that around here to put the Enduro-Evo through it's paces.

Totally jelly of your off-raod "hills" of which there are really none in FL.

The best we have are made up of abandoned limestone quarries. You get some features like in your video, but nothing sustained like that. Just short little sections like 40' or so. Then climb your ass back up to do it again. Very little reward for all the repeat climbing.

But i'm with you on expending the minimum amount of energy to get to the top. Fatigue is a killer, especially on the terrain you're riding on. On my local off road terrain, it's more of just a clavicle breaker. haha

Question for everyone: how many of you lead others in your careers/corporate environments, or manage a department with direct reports?
