Yeah it's actually pretty crazy how The blind fanboyism in this thread is
It's pretty easy to appreciate how far Hyundai has come from what they built. It's not stepping on BMW's toes but having a new player enter the field. In fact competition is good for the consumers.

Full disclosure I do have a X45E, fully optioned out and I love it. But I did go look at the Genesis GV 80 and GV70 and they were actually pretty nice cars. In fact I would recommend them to somebody who wants something different if they didn't have the crazy dealer markups on them.

This is a bmw forum….we are all fanboys to some degree but what does that have to do with the immutable facts that Kia’s are slow and ugly?

I gotta say I’d take a new 7 series over any Kia ever made. Maybe I’m biased.

I believe the GV60 goes from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. Not slow by any means. Looks is subjective. Bentley designers created the GV80.

For a small country about the size of the state of Indiana, their rise in the automotive space is respectable.

Kia is the entry brand for Hyundai. I don't think that's a reasonable comparison.

Me too. That's not my point though.

It's a good thing for Genesis that most people don't utilize a drag strip on their daily commute to work and the grocery store.

You realize this isn't a big factor for a lot of people... Right?

Right? lol. If all we cared about was straight lines, why buy anything but a Tesla or an EV!

LOL it's a rag. They slapped some wheels and sides on it. Gave it what they thought was a luxxxurious interior and labeled it high end. I think if they did a cornering and agility tests it would fail as well.

Anyway, it wasn't about the drag race. It was about the outcome of performance vs lack thereof.

I wanted the total package.

What I see is an elaborate affectation. I seem to see a flower boy with a soft appearance smiling at me behind the wheel.

Garbage can also rise, forming a dump.

P.S.: I am not a big fan of BMW, people can tell it from my early posts. But this? No Way!

The GV80 gets great reviews and I cross shopped for it. It definitely has a Bentley look and the interior luxury feel is superb. After selecting options and everything though, it's not really any cheaper. I wanted a third row and was able to get a CPO X5 for significantly less plus I prefer the X5 exterior styling and handling. And interior functionality to me is more intuitive. Still, others may find the GV80 better for their needs and it's certainly not crazy to choose one over the other depending on what's important to you. Gas mileage on X5 was also better on the models I was looking at. There's a reason GV80s are in short supply though. It's a popular vehicle.
