50e delivery shambles
So my 50e was supposed to have been delivered in December (I’m UK based).
I get fed a story by dealer that there was a port issue, which actually turns out to be true - a storm and flooding! Fast forward 3 months and I’m being given no answers other than my car went to Germany for checks, is now in Southampton getting ‘repairs’ and there is no available stock of 50e in the UK. Also been told that new orders have an issue due to gear box issues and supply and thus any new order won’t be supplied until end of this year. Sad times, looks like I’ll have to look for an alternative, what a shambles. |

Really sorry to hear that, very annoying. Something’s up with the 50e for sure, when mine was delivered at the end of last year (factory order) the dealers local to me were awash with them, sort of irritated me as I waited ages for mine to arrive and instead could have had my pick of ‘in stock’ cars. But now supply has dried up for some reason…

There's no way I'd even accept a car that is going through that kind of reconditioning and checks. The 50e's already have a propensity of an assortment of electrical bugs and issues.

Does any here with. 50e notice a bit of rumbling on decell from the regen? You can here it more than feel it and I am certain it is the electric motor as tge scource. It may be normal but I have nothing to compare it to.

Lots of available new stock of the 50E available in UK, google bmw uk stock locator. I bought a new M60i last week that I got off the site from a Synter dealers 70 miles from Dorset, very few M60i available but lots of 50E, also got a good deal on fully loaded car.

I ordered mine in Feb with estimated delivery date of 30 September. Apparently there are very few slots allocated to BME UK dealers for the 50e. It’s not new and highly doubt it will get any better. With that being said, i would consider twice getting a vehicle that may have faults due to water in the engine or cabin. |
