Non run-flats and no spare tire
I'm looking at an 2023 M50i with 22" rims, non run-flats. The compact spare is no longer offered. I was surprised as I just drove a '23 M50i and there was indeed a spare!
Two questions: 1) Are the narrow sillouette tires on the 22" wheels noticably rougher-riding? 2) How do you achieve peice of mind with non run-flats? Thanks, Dan |

100% the 22s ride more rough.
Mine (742Ms) look great but if there’s a 1 inch expansion crack or elevation of some sort the x5 kind of harshly hits it. Problem is, the 740Ms (20”) are just plain squishy and it affects handling. That’s with the stock Bridgestone Alenza’s though. I have the standard suspension that comes with the M50i. Unsure if DHP would smooth some of this out. I’m going to change over to MSS springs to try and stabilize ride quality a bit. But man on smooth roads and at speed—the M50 feels like it’s on rails. Everything lines up perfectly. Problem is I live in Chicago…. Not a damn smooth road to be found! |
