Would you get DAP or upgrade to XDrive?
Hello Everyone,
I wanted to get everyone’s feedback. I have ordered a fairly loaded sDrive40i and the only two things it doesn’t have is DAP and all wheel drive. I could possibly get both but then I’ll have to remove my 22” wheel upgrade and just get the standard m sport 20” wheels so I can allocate the funds from that towards these two options. Which two out of three options would you pick and why? DAP is a must have! I’ve seen the 20” M sport wheels and they are good looking wheels.

If you live in an area where it snows, I would recommend the xDrive. |

In the end, adding both will not cost you much over the life of ownership. DAP is a must and xDrive certainly won't hurt to have.

If financing, I'm curious what the estimated additional monthly cost would be for adding DAP and xDrive? I kind of went through this with a some Individual options and warranties, and ended up adjusting non-monetary options to keep my numbers within range. Maybe the sDrive could be more fun, if it allows the a$$ end to slide out...maybe?

Anthracite headliner - i just dont think this is something i can appreciate. Trailer hitch - i have zero plans of using this to tow. Plus it changes the look from the back end. Also loses the kick to open feature. Massaging seats - i have heard that it is weak at best anyway. Plus i just assume more stuff in the seat equals less comfort. they use dthe same seats with different config, so if they add something in there, that means they are taking out some padding. 22” wheels - if i still need to remove options then i will remove this even if i like 22 very much. Why? You can always change wheels at anytime. |

Thank you all for your feedback. Just got back from the dealership and added the DAPP. Decided to keep the sdrive and the 22” wheels.

I have been debating something similar in my current build. I live in the northeast so xDrive a must and I like the safety elements of the DAP - I won't necessarily use the highway assistant though. I find it auto correcting me in my current '21 X5 when I don't want it to (lane assist).
I also have the massage seats in my current '21 and I'm not going to add that for my '25 order because I find myself never using it. I love the 22" wheels just keep in mind it comes with summer tires so if you are in cold or winter climate you'll need to do a full winter set, as the 22"s are hard to find winter tires. |

While it sounds like you've already decided, I would suggest getting DAP and Xdrive and pick up a set of 22"s later when the budget allows. You can always upgrade wheels later, but you can't do the same regarding DAP and Xdrive.
I just purchased a 2024 40i xdrive pretty much fully loaded with exception of wheels (has 20" M-Sport). I purchased a set of 22" HRE wheels and all-season tires for it (backordered). I'll likely keep the 20"s and may put them on in the winter depending on how the 22"s ride in the colder months. |

Putting aside there is no indication of them having transfer case issues, what would DAP possibly have to do with it?
