Just checking to see if anything changed on the build for my m50i with a prod date of 4-8. No deletions there or when speaking with Genius last Wednesday.

I've had a power tailgate since 2010 on LR4s and X5s. Found essential to have open automatically lettering our dog now jump in without catching the rear bumper. Getting out no issue. Getting in, we'll have to pay closer attention and won't be able to open the hatch in advance before your hands are full with the kick disabled for those of us with a toe hitch. It the kick feature works in other territories, so stupid it can't work here.
Did the previous gen x5 had a power lower tailgate? I thought it didn't.
I skipped that gen never caring for it. I'm pretty sure my 2011 E70 35d did, but maybe not? I know my 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2017 LR4s and Discovery's did, so could be confused. All other recent cars in our garage have been Volvos. Sadly, no tailgates.

someone in another thread mentioned it's going to be a button to release the latch then manual opening, so it sounds like the locking mechanism is electrical instead of a mechanical lever

none have made it out of production yet so no first-hand experience

Thanks. Still hoping they'll get the parts they need so that by the time my order goes into production it'll be rectified.

I'm replying to the dude that said he had a lower power tailgate since 2010 which I didn't think was possible since this was a feature introduced for this generation x5.

The G05 was the first X5 to have the lower liftgate powered.

You're right. Seeing that photo above with the handle, that's exactly what it was.

Just checked out the X5 with wife which will be her primary. It’s a deal breaker without automatic lower tailgate. Here’s hoping it comes back by the time our 45e goes into production. Otherwise will need to delay.

Spoke with my SA today. He thinks it might not get removed for the 45e. I hope he's on to something.

I did put a deposit down on a 50e. Second in line, so hopefully would be in first round of allocations if we want one.

That is about a year and a half wait, I'm surprised there are people putting deposits down on them already.

I had my name on the m2CS list for 4.5yrs. 1.5yrs feels like tomorrow. On a list for a c8 ZR1. Got to get on early to be at the front of the line. The plan is to still order a 22 45e and take delivery unless it has the manual lower gate. My wife is vertically challenged and relies on the lower gate flipping down when her hands are full.

Wow, I don't think I would have the patience.
