i just got my VIN number from my sales agent as he said that the production has started.

Mdecoder can't seem to find my car however Bimmerwork VIN decoder can tell me my order but not my production date, which is what i'm interested in. any idea's ?

It is not available in Mdecoder until production is complete, I think there were a few times it was a little before. None of them will show the production date until production is complete as that is when the date is determined for VIN purposes.

i got my VIN on Januari 5th do you have any idea how long it takes from getting the VIN to finished production ?

VIN's are assigned when they go into the Production Begins status which is about two weeks prior to the assembly date.

so apperantly Mdecoder has a bit of a delay. i can now find my car as of 25th of januari. The car was build 13th of januari.

any idea how long it might take to arrive in Belgium ?

hiluca I'm wondering when did you order your X5? I ordered it beginning of September but my production date is pushed to week 10 :-(

i actualy did my initial build in december 2022, but the order was finalized june 2023.
so for me it appears to be around 7 months waiting time.

Yes, MDecoder usually doesn't show in of until after everything is complete and there can be a delay in it getting data.

Sorry, I don't follow deliveries there two closely, hopefully someone can chime in. My guess would be 3-4 weeks but that is a guess. If you can let us know how long it was when you don get it that would be a good data point to have.

My dealer in Antwerp told me that transportation and getting it to the dealership would take 8 weeks.

my SA told me that he expects a delivery week 8 of 2024.
so that's 19 feb to 25 feb.

in a following email he told me delivery might be in march because transport isn't stable on timings

Yes Jorssen Noord. Probably the reason why they say 8 weeks if the transportation is not stable on timings 😂

Having waited for my BMW Z4 to get to the US from Austria, the biggest variability is which ship it gets on. Going your way, it will likely go out of Charleston SC to Zeebrugge.

Here's a link to the K Line Global ship schedule.

There's a ship leaving today. The next three leave on 29 Jan, 4 Feb, and 14 Feb. They appear to take 17 days enroute (but that can change.) It can then take a week or so to get to your dealer.

You can hope, but there's no apparent logic to which vehicles go on which ship. When I was watching my Z4, it spent 2 weeks in Bremerhaven before it was shipped. Others on the board waited between 5 days and 4 weeks. The minimum to do all the customs and shipping prep seems to be about 3 days.

Your dealer should be able to tell you if it is on the ship and which ship it is.

just got an update from my dealer ... the car is scheduled to arrive week 12 so that's the end of march. looking at wallenius shipping it should go on the Tirranna.

my 45e finished production 29th of august and was handed over to us on the 23th of october in 2020.

so yeah looks like the same kind of time line shipping wise at around 2 months for Belgium

another update.

my car just arrived at my dealer friday 5 april. delivery is coming saturday the 13th.

it took longer then expected.
