X5 G05 45e Hybrid Owners Manual

Hi, Yesterday I ordered X5 45e Carbon Black - not expected to arrive for 3 months - wondering if anyone has an Owners Manual they could share as would love to read one - thanks

Mine is in dutch (only hard copy). Though very unhappy about quality of manual. The manual in iDrive is way better.

Found several inconsistencies...

Driving guide app is just an online version of the same stuff that's printed in the manual plus a bunch of links to a Youtube channel.

The key missing feature in the manual is one that clearly and simple explains how to get the max range out of your battery. As I've posted elsewhere I am getting at best a range of 50-55km which is nowhere close to the 87km range. Even dealer doesn't know...

Ah Okay when i bought my 40e i did have the same problem. Nobody has a good explanation about how to use the car. Dealers only sell and repair the cars.... I did even put everything in excel to check...
But :
In the books for the 40e: 30km real life 20-21km but when the temp is +17°C. When it getting colder like today +3°C then it drops to 16-17 km.
So when i did order the 45e it was hoping on 60-70 out of the 80 or 90 they say. But if i hear correctly it only 50.... bummer.

Also always use the pre-condition of the batteries. I do this also every morning. So pre-heating the cabin and pre-conditioning the batteries.
Takes 10% off the capacity but when connected to the wall it takes about 30 min to reach 100% again of the batteries.
So i go to the city after bread around 7u15 -> preconditions starts at 6u40. I did have this also from people who drives an i3.
On the picture the settings in the connecteddrive app.

Also keep on mind the ranges are also averages like fuel consumptions.
They become better on time. Also i did drive about 120K with my 40e and the numbers are steady on the one i did say.

Agree 100%. The lack of knowledge and information is just frustrating when it comes down to optimize car use when driving in hybrid mode. It has been one month of trial and error for me.

I wish someone could tell me how to get it towards 60-70km range but after a month 50-55km is for me the real range. Dealer sees same range.

There was a guy who reported here 70km with battery to spare

Found it, but I don’t know how to put the link to the post

QUOTE=PaulusBMW;25370839]Hi Hybrido's,

Today my car drove 71,8 KM (1h12min) in full electric mode...and it had some juice left over. My average speed was 60,3 km/h.
Every trip is a pleasure and it's worth waiting for.[/QUOTE]

Wow. Very interesting. That's 40% more range compared to what I get out of it.

I really would love someone at BMW to be able to explain how to get such a range out of the car because after one month I am simply not seeing that.

When I went for a test drive with the 745e recently, the computer said 29km, the battery was fully charged. I drove 41km with it until it didn't want to use the battery anymore.

I would guess that you will have a better regeneration from letting the car roll instead of keep going and break hard for a short time.
Just to say, I think driving style together with the kind of roads you use daily have a big influence.

That is almost the same as in previous post: +41%

With what you describe, it could be that the battery indication is just flawed.

Haven't done it yet but I should just run on batteries until they say no more.

Since I have the 45e my driving style is driven by the self-driving mode and so it is very relaxed...

What type of roads do you use? I think batteries are best used in city traffic and combustion on highways

if you put driving assistance on, car decided for itself what option regenerates more, rolling or braking. Yesterday it was braking where I would otherwise just roll so I’m not sure this hypothesis would be correct. Maybe also depends on how steep road gets, it was only going downhill slightly and car decided to brake. That braking went further into the regeneration bars versus rolling I had been doing on the same spot.
