Pretty much the answer to what needs to be solved for. Tip/contact just needs to be extended per my earlier pics.
Just the tip

I’m wondering if its the kind that protrude from the rear that don’t work anymore, which is what I had that worked on my f15 but not on the new one. I just ordered one from Amazon for eight bucks that is more flush fitting with two usb fittings which I like because I always worried about somebody kicking the other one and tearing up the receptacle, so we’ll see if it works.

my auto accessory installer that does all tyoe if installs like radar detectors etc, figured it out that this its narrower at the bottom of the socket, if you are interested in playing around a little bit you can shave off a bit of the charger plug around the bottom tip and it will work, ill try to upload a pic soon, strange though why they would not use a standard socket

The ball seat plug is meant for a cigarette lighter receptacle not a 12v power outlet and since there isn't a cigarette lighter receptacle in the car (only 12v ports), it won't fit.

Noticed the same, my Escort radar power plug wouldn't work in that center accessory outlet.

I found it pretty weird that there even was a cigarette lighter (and removable ashtray). Haven't seen that in a number of years.

I like the shaving method! At least until I get around to hard
wiring my RD again.

Unfortunate that you have to resort to this. Anker devices are very popular and of great quality. If only BMW did tests with a couple of popular USB adapters

I bought the bmw USB adapter and found that the only cigarette lighter that works is in the rear hatch area.

Can anyone please point me in the right area to look for the fuse for the cigarette lighters for the front.

Much thanks 👍

Would a penny or other small coin work?
I just added a freebie bmw charger to the list of demands I plan to make with pen in hand just about to sign the papers.
