All of the 'normal' vehicle functions run off of 12vdc. That includes fans, electrical heating for mirrors, windshield, seats, computers, displays, radios, etc. The HVB circuit does have a DC-DC power supply to generate 12vdc when needed to augment and charge the 12vdc battery.

There's a changeover valve in the circuit that appears to let the ICE coolant to get to the heating system, but it does not appear to get heat from elsewhere. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=64_2599

Some cooling components can be leftovers from 40i. Can we find out if there is coolant radiator in cabin climate control assembly? 🤔

For those who is interested, I just had BMW tech to confirm:
45E have hot coolant radiator for cabin heating, same as any other ICE vehicle. In addition to that, they use resistor based heat generator that run of HV battery.
System balance use of both, condition dependent.
