Hi, are the X5 wheels and tires specific to a particular wheel location? I took mine in for detailing, including ceramic coating on wheels and the detailer flipped pax side front & rear accidentally. Later in the day, I got a tire pressure warning and could immediately see the front & rear had been swapped.

So is it fine to adjust pressures, or I need to have the wheels moved back to original location?

Thanks

what size wheels and tires? are they staggered or square setup? if staggered, they F'd up. rear stays in the rear, front stays in the front. give us the deets so we can advise you more.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I have 20" OEM wheels, all tires are Bridgestone Alenza Sport A/S 275/45R20 110H M+S.

I'm not sure about the other questions.

My standard pressure is 35 for front and 41 for rear (per the iDrive recommendation)

So, I learned two new terms today: square and staggered. Square means all 4 tires are the same, as in my case, and staggered means the rear tires are wider than the fronts. For example 275s in front and 295s in the rear.

I also learned that some X5s are delivered square and some staggered, even if trim set is the same. So there's not a single answer, you have to look at your own X5 to determine your setup.

Cheers.

Id adjust the pressure and have the other side swapped in the same manner, that would just be considered a proper rotation then (which dealers dont do, because they want them to wear uneven/faster so they can sell more tires/service).

Its bizarre how often my wife has to fight for a (paid mind you) rotation when going in for her free maintenance. They always say "its not needed"...

since you established you have a square setup, you can simply adjust the pressures and be done with it. from the detailing services you mentioned, sounds like your vehicle is new (assuming 45e based on those air pressures?), so no need to swap any tires around as j080808 recommended since their wear differences are likely nil. cheers!
