The #1 Thing I Luv About the 45e! This may...

...surprise you!

Ok, so after having my 2021 45e for 1 month/7days, I can't help but think how much I really like how smootheeeeee it is coming off the line. The silkiness of the eMotor from a standstill is so relaxing,...and rewarding for my motoring senses! When leaving a traffic light, I typically tax the eMotor to "20-35" per the gauge and this easily keeps me ahead of following traffic. If one were to use the ICE/eMotor combo, I'm sure it would rocket off the line in a heated blast!

So, I could only imagine BMW releasing a full BEV model of the G05,...Dual Motors,....550Hp,...600FtLbs of Torque,...Minimum 400 mile range Hwy,...City,...it doesn't matter,...with Super fast charging (...like 10-80% in 30 minutes - LOL)! Plus! A Front Storage compartment!

Yeah,...I know the iX is here,...but that package isn't for me.

PS: I just discovered that when in ECO mode,...Comfort mode power will be delivered on demand,...without any ICE assistant by just pressing the Go faster peddle harder! This thing is full of thoughtful performance programming!

Well you are talking about Tesla Model X and the upcoming Volvo EX90 aren’t you?

In fact, I will say NIO ES6/ES8 will be the closest option per your description. Unfortunately we can’t get it in the United States.

I hear ya, but no Tesla for me. I'm not with the 'MC' gang...the "Minimalistic Crowd"! I like Buttons,...and a few Whistles. I think that new Mazda SUV may be a nice X5 design spin-off,...and may woo some X5'ers over if BMW continue to get crazy with their styling/designs!

I too prefer physical buttons more than touchscreen. I don’t think I’ll truly get used to touchscreen until they get rid of the lagging feeling and respond like an iPhone. I understand that car infotainments nowadays are getting smoother, but still a long way to eliminate the lagging. It just makes me doubt if I really hit the “buttons” all the time.

Yep my favorite thing about my 45e is just how smooth, quiet, and refined it is. Also not what I was really expecting to be my favorite feature. As you say, acceleration is very smooth and with air suspension, the ride quality is smooth. I feel like I am riding around in a Rolls Royce.

I set mine up to default in Electric Individual Mode (just go into settings when switched to electric mode and select "Electric Individual as standard"). If I need more power on the fly, you can immediately turn on the gas engine by simply flicking the shifter to the left which activates the ICE and starts sport shifting (but not manual shifting unless you push it up or down). I also disabled all the Eco Pro settings in Electric Mode and changed the steering to sport, but left damping in comfort.
