I would definitely park like that to avoid the car next to me slamming his doors into my car. Would find it great it the parking assistant does this for me automatically instead of centering it in such a end of line parking spot

Its always a battle trying to find an end spot, my wife and I will circle the lot looking for one. Some of the newer plazas have extra wide spots, we like those. We also look for spots next to the handicap parking places as they normally have keep out zones that at least give you some distance on one side.

In Europe it can be a nightmare ... parking spots in US are in general much wider than in Europe.

We have parking lots here where the car wouldn't fit basically and you wouldn't be able to get out of the car without climbing through the window. This is going to give me headaches once I have it. My 4GC (F36) is a bit smaller and already challenges me sometimes because we lack the space really in our parking lots. I will always try to find an end spot or park further away or whatever I can to do to avoid anyone from damaging my car.

I gotcha. When I lived in the UK I actually downsized my car and even then had a difficult time getting in and out of my car without hitting the one next to me....nearly impossible, glad the locals were considerate. But here in the US, a considerate parker is an extreme rarity. Heaven forbid you end up with a car full of kids parking next to you, they just kick open their doors with complete disregard. Sometimes I just want to drive a clunker, its like a vacation from stress!
