Pet Peeves

Driving home from work yesterday in bumper to bumper traffic I had a pair in the car in front of me Smoking and Vape-ing. The plumes of smoke we wafting to where I could smell them and it was sickening.

I moved lanes as fast as I could, then I noticed the person left behind the smoking car asking if I'd let them cut in front of me as they were getting smoked out too.

To make matters worse, the cig smoker driver held the cig out the window when he want smoking it.

I think that if someone is smoking in a car they should have to do it with all the windows closed. Stuff Stinks and I don't want to breathe it. Speed up the process to get these smokers off the road !

Rant over-I feel better now.

^that doesn't bother me all that much, but now that I think about it I don't know if it has ever really happened to me to the extent that you had described.

My pet peeve is rather stupid, but it's the only time I really get frustrated. My fiance will sometimes do my laundry (which I love for the most part), but sometimes she will put stuff in the dryer that shouldn't and boom its shrunk unwearable. Really pisses me off lol. Also in regards to the laundry somehow when she does it I manage to lose clothes!? Idk how it happens but it really grinds my gears, "HOW DO CLOTHES JUST VANISH" is what I usually yell lmao.

I'm sure I will get flack for this, but I bet most will agree silently in their own heads.

I joke that I feel that whatever speed I happen to be going on the road is the correct speed. Anyone going a few mph faster than me is a crazy idiot and anyone going a few mph slower than me is a moron that needs to get off the road.

I read somewhere that they did a survey and found this to be true of most drivers.

Provided the speed you choose is the same speed I happen to have chosen, I agree with you. Otherwise, you are just a moron that needs to get off the road. Because you are probably not a crazy idiot.

#1 On the highway and drivers who fight to get over into the far right lane just before traffic is trying to merge into the highway via on-ramp.

#2 Drivers who don't know that when turning onto a multi-lane road they're supposed to turn onto the nearest lane and not wander over to the next lane.

My pet-peeve is very similar, it is impossible to drive on the motorway at a constant speed. I find myself constantly speeding up, slowing down or changing lanes because of some clown who doesn't know how to drive.
I forgot to mention the super-clowns who try to merge @ 20-30kmh below the speed limit.

Mine is people merging onto the Interstate that actually stop and wait.

Our roads aren't like the ones I have seen out west where they have actually have a fast timed red-light to control the flow of traffic trying to get on the Interstate. Here you get up to speed and pick a spot!

I hate when I'm smoking and non-smokers complain about it, especially if they are in a different car.

I'm kidding, I don't smoke in my car.......I'd rather do it in yours....

Also if you're bitching about my driving from another car, it's because you are one of the morons Run Silent is talking about and I just passed you.

True story. Years ago my neighbors one week old e46 suffered a serious burn mark on his paint caused by a cigarette thrown from a window of a car he was passing.

I felt bad for him but his swearing about in French was just gold.

Zipper merging when there's little to no traffic, and you have ample time and space to get in front or behind me (like a mile), merging successfully, and without impeding the flow of traffic.

Nope, instead you hope to get in front of that one last car and slow down traffic behind you from a steady 45 to 25. Because you couldn't bother to be behind that last car for a 1/2 mile before the merge.

Zipper merging has its place. So do all of the orange signs telling you the f***ing lane is ending before you finally are forced to merge and ruin the commute for everyone else.

Every. damn. time.

We should start a campaign to replace parallel parking with zipper merging in the driving license tests. Waaaay more useful than parallel parking, IMHO. It works so well, if people were aware and willing, but like you say it just takes one moron and you go to the 'dual waiting lines'.

I Love how this went from smoking to merging lol.

idk, people really judge smokers; while they are walking around morbidly obese. pick ur poison I guess.

I get the second hand bothers you; but your outside, in public places. a homeless guy could be taking a shit in the next lane. who knows

The thread is titled "Pet Peeves." Given the context and initial post, I assumed it meant while driving. I thought it was relevant haha.

People who can't afford a decent radio for their car, but can afford $200-500 headphones.

I don't get it either. Maybe anxiety and this is their way of shutting the world out so they can focus driving their Taurus. They always drive a Taurus for some reason.

I see this often too. I also see it in the gym quite a bit. There are several guys that come in with hoodies on and keep the hoods up over their heads when working out. I get that they may be trying to keep an elevated core temp while working out, but I'm usually sweating buckets without a hoodie. I couldn't imagine doing this.
