Liking the car and m package bits. One problem - it's a tiny budget Bmw car. So the drive quality, materials, features, etc. will be in accordance with the budget. Wouldn't it be fun to have this car with 505hp?

I agree, not bad at all, especially when compared with some of the other new models with the hideous grilles - 7 LCI, X7, 4 Concept etc
This looks pretty well proportioned to my eyes. I wouldn't buy one myself but that said, I'm not in the market for a compact car

You must be blind to the sales of the A3 and CLA. BMW is growing, not polluting.

More sales is ultimately better for the models you like.

Try to expand your thinking....
Except they're still further isolating the models we like.
They seem to be bringing back the mojo a bit.

Hopefully this drives great. But that is a different topic entirely to what I was responding to.

Adding a high selling model will be great for BMW.

To me it looks like a more aggressive Mazda 3 sedan from the side angles.

I thought Mazda was copying BMW, not it looks like BMW is copying Mazda.

But that's their own fault... That's what the 5 and 7 are for. I just don't understand their strategy.
All vehicles grow in size. The automotive world is full of examples (911, Accord, Maxima, Camry, A4, Civic, Jetta, etc.) where current designs are much larger than previous.

It's consumer driven.

Yes it is a M product. All Mxxx models are also desinged by M. Just look here: https://www.bmw-m.com/de/topics/all-models.html

Maybe there are no FWD M's yet but there are FWD biased M-cars available.

Honestly the Mazda 3 (sedan in particular) looks more attractive in my opinion. Dare I say it even looks more expensive...

Front and rear look good, side profile is a complete joke. Though it probably drives a lot better than the A45 AMG or the S3, the aesthetics is the worst of the lot.

Look on the bright side err'body...

All this means is that older gen BMW's (especially ///M models) will skyrocket in value.

Okay. If they ever ask you again, the answer is "M3 Touring" ok?

You must be kidding me right now . Do you see the Mxxx as a real M products? I see them only as BMW more sportier look for the front and rear bumpers . A 2010 E92 335i wasnt called M335i , after Mercedes started naming the C43 and A35 as Amgs then bmw came and did something close to them by calling them M performance/ lite cars . But as an M product? Come on is the same as the 335i just add the budge everywhere. Everyone knows what is an M car , it also looks like a whole different story .

so they collaborated with Toyota again?
This looks like re badged Corolla

Interior seems decent though.

BMW need to forget about this small fwd 4 door and bring 1 series hatch. At least 1 series makes sense in hatch form.
(Although, there is something called Golf or GTI)

Did BMW never read the story of the Acura ILX? Aka the "fancy Civic" flop.
