Assuming 1 owner, no accident and well kept than it’s in the range of acceptable pricing. But I’m only basing this on where cars are currently listed. I don’t know what people are actually paying. I see some 21s less and some more. I would be a bit wary that some 22s have crept to the 60k or below territory. I believe m50s are really taking a hit given the m60 now and the overblown concerns around owning an older V8.
TBH - I’d probably feel more comfortable paying 55k for it but I never advise losing a dream car perfectly optioned out over a few thousand bucks. Talking like 50/mo finance charge - not worth fretting over if it’s the right car. |

Thanks for the detailed response. Good stuff. I’m walking away from a ‘25 M60i so I’m definitely aware of the V8 diff. Hands down the S63 is the better engine. But this N63 isn’t a slouch. Especially driving on city streets or Long Island traffic. I am keeping my old rims to maintain the staggered 315 rear wheels. Hope they bolt on to the new M!
And I wish it had air suspension. I asked for $2k off but no deal. Here is the build sheet. Hopefully you’ll weigh in with a bit more info. I have at least 20 months of warranty! |

The X5 M50i you are looking at isn’t fully loaded. I understand the right color combo is difficult to find. I would keep looking and make sure it has all the bells and whistles. Fully loaded is around $104,000K MSRP back in 2021.

To answer the question is it a decent engine?
They made improvements (updates) to the V8 in 2020 with the better N63B44T3. Bigger difference to prior V8 N63B44M3. Don’t think it has the same problems as the previous engine.

That's a good deal. Executive, premium, towing, DAPP, most of the basics. I'd look for one with DHP and B&W personally, but would expect to pay a bit more
I would say that one with its higher low miles and well equipped but not totally loaded is priced very fairly. You could pay a bit more and get a 22 with less features or pay a lot more for a 22 with the same or more. It's a good price. It's not a "fly across the country" kind of deal, but it's really fair if checks your boxes and is local to you. For reference, a really similar one without DAPP and towing but merino leather black on black sold at my local dealer for 72-75k in like 2 days. I looked at it the day it came out of detail by chance and passed because it didn't have DAPP. It sold like the next day. |

Minus having DAP it’s pretty bare bones for an m50 spec. If being picky I’d want exec, merino, massage, DHP. If I’m really picky - alcantara , BW, leather dashboard, tow hook. As others said You’re missing an easy 10-14k from being loaded where I wouldn’t call this loaded at all. |

You’re right about missing executive pkg and the leather dash. I’ll miss those as they are on my existing X5.
And I think w 30k of miles it’s a lot. I think it’s a decent deal. Though I could pass on this and keep looking. Such high stress Or just write the big check for the new ‘25 60i….$110k. And it is loaded. And I had to pay ( when it arrives) MSRP. No deals. 👿 Thanks for the input. |

Thanks for the input bruin man. Keep in mind - if I was to find a more loaded ( all that’s missing is exec pkg and leather dash) it will most likely cost more. The X5M is a bit too aggressive for me for a daily driver - so I’d have to look for another M50i.
Or bite the BIG bullet and take possession of the new M60i already on order. And I ordered everything. And write a very big check - $110k- wish this this wasn’t so hard. |

Write the check for a new M60i. It’s a spectacular vehicle. I’m betting Dan at Next Level Auto Brokers can locate a deal for you.

I’m from the area as well. I’ve found some dealers in PA that are willing to always discount and deliver for free, or there are great brokers on leasehackr who have even better discounts and they just charge a fee. Do you have the m60 or is it on order? Deciding btw basically a 4yr old car at 55k and a brand new 105k car is pretty polar opposite extremes here… may I ask why? I’d assume if considering new you either want the LCI or if you didn’t - you’d be after a 23 or oldest 22 to save a bit of depreciation but still want it to feel new.. |

Thanks for the response. Love this app. Can’t agree w you more about LI. Neither Habberstad nor Rallye or Competition would swap out hi perf rubber for AS rubber if the car was ordered. Are you kidding me? My dealer in Chicago would absolutely swap rubber after the car hit the dealership. I don’t want run flats. Ride hard. Wanted AS. No one would swap!! I think frankly there isn’t much wrong w my current 2014 Msport deisel which is loaded. I can only get $12k on a trade from either BMW dealership- despite me thinking it’s worth $13-14k. It has 89k on it. But very very clean. I shd just keep it! But - I’m not sure how long one will be able to buy a V8 from BMW. I’m just tired of my 10 yr car. So I have the new M60i on order. $110k. It’s just SO much money to spend. In 4 years it will only be worth $50k. That’s a lot of depreciation in 4 years. So …..even though I’ve got an order in - if I can find a 21 22 23 M5.0 I’d consider it. Unfortunately the one I looked at today had high ish miles (30k) for a ‘21 and it isn’t loaded. No exec pkg no leather dash. Not deal killers. It drove well. I paid - or will pay $59k I think It shd be sold for $55k but it’s a certified CPO from BMW so that’s probably worth $3k. So…..while not NEW -it’s a nice interior color and arctic white ( what I have now) and a $50k savings. You think the new M60i is $50k better? This ‘21 was $89 new - so some depreciation has been avoided. And based on what I’ve read- maybe the new M60i exhaust note won’t be as good as this one. Don’t know that. So - dang it - not sure what to do. Your advise was kind of like find another seller for the new ‘25. Even if I did - probably wouldn’t save more than a couple of thousands? I’m interested in your feedback. Thx |

I feel like I have to make a disclaimer that this is simply an opinion rather than a statement of fact so that I don’t get scolded by our fellow members. My opinion is to get the pre-LCI M50i. I was in the same predicament in June of 2023 and drove both LCI and pre-LCI. I couldn’t justify the cost difference for the LCI. Just not enough difference there for me plus I was able to secure a nice discount on a new pre-LCI. In hindsight, I probably should have went with a used pre-LCI as well. I think end of 2026 they are coming out with new model so that’s not too far away.

I believe it’s 2020-2023. Not many changes that I’m aware of between those years. As a matter of fact, you might he able to find an early 2020 that has more bells and whistles than a newer model year as they started to get rid of some features after COVID hit.

Obviously you should get a 2025 M60i and be very happy. I made the choice 2 months ago to purchase a 2021 M50i that was totally loaded, pristine condition and 17,500 miles. The saving from new to CPO was incredible. I drive a lot and got a CPO warranty wrap for $3500 that will last until 2028.
As for the M50i you found; I think you can do better. I really enjoy the executive package and I would recommend this. The laser lights and the glass knobs are cool. LDT says to contact Dan for your M60i. Could be 10% off MSRP.

Here’s the rub
And thanks by the way for your reply. There are only a handful of used 50i on the island. I’ve looked at each one. Your vehicle is a unicorn. One other option is to just wait a bit. It’s not like my current ride is bad. It drives as good as any used X5. It’s a diesel and it pulls hard w excellent gas mileage. And it’s loaded But you’re correct - I can do better. That ‘21 I drove yesterday isn’t as nice as my 2014. It was way faster and loved the exhaust note. Based on threads I’ve read on here - there’s a good chance the 50i has a better exhast note than the S63/60i But I’m gonna cancel buying the used 50i cause it is missing a lot of cool stuff that frankly I like- exec pkg and leather dash to name two. And it has a lot of miles -30k isn’t crazy- like 10k a year-but it wasn’t like your 17k. Maybe I should just cancel both cars and wait till the fall. There theoretically will be more used S63 units around by then. Or cheaper 50i too. Or bite the bullet and let the new one come in. Only live once. |

Yes you only live once, I bought a new M50i in April 2023 and changed it for a new M60i last month, certainly didn't make financial sense but it was what I wanted and I am happy with my decision. If you keep the M60i as long as you have had your present car you will definitely get your moneys worth.

For what it is worth, I find the executive package to be the dumbest thing on my car. The glass controls are silly bling and the laser lights might do something but for me (NYC suburb) they are pretty useless becease everything around here is so well lit.

For example, my wife could not care less about cars, hates my car habit and thinks premium cars are a complete waste. She gets into the m50 with exec package and says - I like the shifter - go figure! Point being, it’s a piece of bling that I don’t think is in your face tacky but to my surprise makes things look nicer than I would have thought.. |
