DeepFly-
I have also read that about the transmission. Agreed -it’s an amazing car. It’s plenty fast as is. I’ll likely keep it stock and pick up the 911 I was oringally shopping for in the next year.

Lol, yeah my imaginary lambo is going to be a nice orange or yellow. My neighbor is wrapped matte black. As far as cayennes mostly base and a few S. There is a couple moms at my kids school rocking GTS, I think one has a dog sometimes.

The GTS, hybrid, and turbo trims are definitely more rare. My personal perception thanks to what I see around NYC is definitely part of the reason I didnt initially consider a Cayenne. Will be visiting the dealership tomorrow though, and they have a Cayenne Coupe GTS on the lot (but its missing some features I'd want like surround view, HUD and PDCC). |

X5 for sure.
Can’t find out the safety scores of most Porsches; that’s a deal killer for my family.

TBH I actually didn't test drive at all since we hadn't planned on it, the sales guy only had 45 minutes free so I assumed we'd just sit in a few cars and at least get a feel for interior, the features, etc. Sat in the Cayenne GTS and gave it a few revs, the exhaust sounded beautiful. I probably should've remembered to push for an actual test drive once I started ordering the dang thing.. but I was too excited lol. I recreated my order in the online configurator: https://configurator.porsche.com/porsche-code/PPL633G4 thanks! both good choices anyway. I saw a used Sport Turismo e-Hybrid on the lot too, Porsche did a really good job keeping the sporty look on that body style. |

Congrats and nice spec. But here lies my issue, not sure that I could stomatch almost 180K for that car. But I am sure once you take ownership and start driving it that won’t matter anymore hopefully. Enjoy!

I use the ventilated seats from time to time. They really don’t provide a ton of cooling effect unless it’s crazy hot and massaging seats are nice but sometimes feels like a gimmick. It’s nice to have but completely unnecessary. Having our driven the Cayenne GTS, I am completely sold on prioritizing, driving dynamics, and all the tech features are secondary. Ventilated seats, rear heated seats, adaptive cruise control. All that stuff is nice but it’s not as important as having a car that drives amazing. Porsche cost so much that people compromise on some of the technology. Hence is why you see $150k cars NOT spec’s with rear heated seats or heated steering wheels.

But in this case you don’t have to make any sacrifices, so why skimp on the vented seats they add some value to anyone.. |

My first post was meant more to be a joke. Like come on 175k and no seat ventilation, you better check that box…. My personal opinion and to each their own... if I had 175k being spent on a car, I’d be checking all those boxes to create the ultimate performance AND luxury car. |

I've kept my current BRZ for 8 years and only put 32k miles on it though, so I expect the Panamera to be very much worth it for my driving habits. Quote:
Its a 170k car but if I added every little option based on the logic of the option cost being a tiny fraction of total cost, the total cost will go flying even more. Its how Porsche gets you.. death by a million options. |

170 is a lot for a car but it’s all relative. I remember years ago buying our 2007 MDX for $46k - thinking we were spending a fortune. I’m sure you could now spend that much on an accord if you checked all the boxes…. Life is short and if cars are your thing and you have the funds go for it. YOLO. I knew a guy who was really into cars in his mid-40s he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He bought a really nice Porsche 911 to enjoy in his final years of life. He told Me you never know how much time you have left so “get your living done today”. I think about him often - you can’t live for today *at the expense of tomorrow* , but there’s no point saving everything for a rainy day that may never come… Enjoy that Panamera Panda!

Personally, I would treat a stripped down Cayenne GTS vs fully loaded X5 M50i as a trade off between more driving dynamics vs luxury instead of trying to max out the GTS for max luxury and max driving dynamics if it meant blowing my budget just because I could finance it (today’s definition of affordability I suppose)…I am in the optimizing for value boat. Probably why I would pick the M50i over a Cayenne GTS. My 2 cents worth… |

But I do think anyone who is saying I’ve got 175k for a car should have a few extra thousand laying around to not omit sensible value add options. |
