Question Expected transit time to Seattle?

So my 45e is about to begin production and I'm wondering if anyone has a good sense of how long the transit stage tends to take to reach the Seattle area?

Thanks!

Edit: Now that my car has made it to Seattle, I figured I would put the final timeline here so anyone searching for the same info can get it quickly. It's still worth reading the thread as the timeframe seems to vary somewhat.

2/21 Dispatched from factory
3/20 At the port (Renton)
3/23 At the dealer

I’m located in nor cal and asked my CA regarding an eta today, since production on mine is scheduled to be completed on 2/6. He said it’ll probably take about 2-3 weeks thereafter until delivery at the dealership.

However, also curious to hear what others from the west coast have experienced so far.

I’m located in California. My 45e finishing building yesterday and is ‘awaiting carrier assignment’. BMW genius said it should start transport on 2/6. I’m hoping it will get to my San Francisco dealership before the end of February.

May I ask which dealer you ordered? Seattle or Bellevue?

Got mine 2 months after production complete. It was delayed for 2 weeks at the Renton rail yard.

They travel by train, which has never been known to be quick.

After production ends, I seem to remember 2-3 weeks on my e70 and f15 x5s. Did you get any discount from those vultures at BMW Seattle or Bellevue?

Mine was scheduled for production the week of 1/31. It had been assigned a carrier and dispatched from the factory on 2/3.
I called the genius number to confirm and it’s on the train to Renton with an ETA of 2/24. Figure a week or 2 maybe from there to BMW Seattle, with a day or so there before able to pick up. So guessing roughly 5 ish weeks from actual build to car in hand.

No - MSRP. I figured that was fair enough given how much they hate discounts in normal times!

Thanks for all the responses guys. Luckily my X3 lease does not end until early April, so it seems my dealer's timing could be pretty good. Now I'm just hoping used car prices don't tank in the next two months, lol.

I guess one can’t have enough options

I (still) can’t track my status via mygarage, but genius just updated me that the car finished production today (two days early!) and is already on its way to the dealership. The wait begins.

Will keep you guys posted on timeline.

Quick update for anyone interested now or later...

My build was completed on 2/16 and moved to "Dispatched from factory" today, 2/21.

I'll try to remember to post back with further progress as it happens.

I got word on mine today.. My car went dispatched from factory on 2/14/22 and it is due to arrive by 2/28. I think that is only to the local train station in (San Bernardino) SoCal then trucked to the dealership in Riverside.

They said the dealer would get it around the 28th but I am packing few days extra onto that just to keep my sanity

Update on my SoCal timeline:

- ordered/received prod # on 12/29
(- couldn’t access tracking via my garage during production, which Genius later fixed)
- left the factory on 2/7
- was scheduled to arrive in San Bernardino on 2/22, but arrived three days earlier on 2/18
- expected to arrive at the dealership on 2/24
- flying down to pick it up and drive it back north on Saturday

So, roughly 8 weeks start to finish.

Sounds like your dealer got a late allocation; my order went in at the end of Jan and I had a Vin by the 7th of Feb. Currently in transit to dealer.
