Week 51 (Update: Most vehicles delayed due to ZPK Parts Shortage)
For this of us with a week 51 production (last production week of the year from my understanding) post any updates, issues delays etc down below.
I have a loaded 50i in Carbon Black over Tartufo waiting for production. Update: All Week 51 50i's are delayed until weeks 2-3 due to BMWs incompetence. Update 12/18: Some more clarification Both 40i and 50i models are affected plus all G series chassis with ZPK built in SC I found out some more information on the delay. BMW has a shortage of camera for the ZPK ( Parking assistance package) yet again like they did with the X3 earlier this year. This affects all G series models in production. There are some that made it through but most did not. BMW didn't learn to correct the supply issue from earlier on seeing how it's literally a repeat off April/May.

I know a lot of Week 50's got pushed to week 51 per my CA so maybe that's why?

I am week 50, and as of yesterday it was still week 50. Keeping my fingers crossed it stays there.

If you haven't been bumped I don't foresee that happening now. My CA said a lot we're already bumped as of last week

Mine started week 50, was moved to week 49 (dec 5th completion) then bumped 5 days to Dec 10th completion - so technically I am week 50 sort of some of the time.

At the rate I'm going, I may have to join this thread. Was a week 46. Then shifted to week 48. A week ago I shifted to 12/4 - week 49. As of right now, my build is still not complete and I'm getting close to being a week 50.

I am UK so predicted delivery is last week of Jan...we have to wait for it to trundle across on a boat which takes a week I think? Then that again to get from the port to the dealer and prepped.
With lots of software updates before it seems... |

You and I are in the same boat, except I was an original week 49. I’ll be lucky to get mine by Xmas, which the Genius guy didn’t think was going to happen

My week 50 moved to "Production Begins" today, and I now have a VIN. Seems earlier than I expected, so hopefully this trend continues.

No - once you are in QC, BMW stops communicating completion dates (both the automated lines and the Geniuses). Pretty convenient - but I get it.
I mentioned in another thread - I did call a Genius Saturday to see what was up with protracted visit to QC and he said "their are no holds on your vehicle, which is good - it's not unusual to stay in QC for this long." But - based on what I've seen with production in these forums - it's very long in comparison to others. If your vehicle is in production, I wouldn't get too concerned about it - I've seen other builds go in/out of QC in a day during the time I've been held up there. You get what you get... I'll keep updates coming - it's been an interesting process. |

Mine won't flip into production until next Monday unless they catch up and start week 51 early.

Interesting. Well, at least you have some progress. I’ve been in “Production Begins” for two weeks, and went from 12/6 to 12/10 completion date (but still no movement as of this morning). I’ll call genius this afternoon to get an update. |
