The dealer I am working with stated there is a 6% markup on a new BMW (any model), so the invoice price would be 94% of the MSRP. That's a bit different than the formula TurtleBoy used above, but in the same ballpark, I suppose.

I'm able to get "Invoice" + $500 from this dealer, which is better than the others in the area that are only offering $1K off. However, I think allocations are pushed all the way to an August delivery, which is too far away. As far as I know, new models will be on the lots again by that time and it will be easier to negotiate with a dealer who wants to move a vehicle off the lot.

I HATE this current market...

I would ignore what your dealer is saying in regards to that but overall it seems like you got a good deal compared to some others. Congratulations.

Sounds like they must have quite the waiting list. Allocations for June builds/delivery are what is current. May want to try another dealer and see if they will match the discount.

Been following the forum and wanted to ask a question that will hopefully give me a good foundation to start negotiations and then work from there. What is the ballpark range when it comes to discount off MSRP (clean and without credits taken into account yet) for 23/24. I will factor in any available credits after I get a feel for realistic % off MSRP.

2023: ?

2024: ?

Thanks so much everyone !

Welcome to the forum. Depending on dealer, location, what your are ordering, time of the month/year, etc. you will see anything from 0% to 8% off, probably for either MY. Although yesterday we heard from someone looking for an M60i and one dealer they contacted but a $10k markup on it.

If you want a 23, then you need to search dealer inventory and try to make the best deal you can. Start at about 8% and see what the say. Given inventory is limited that may keep discounts down or in some cases raise them if the dealer is motivated to move it.

For 24's, just create your build and shop it around to various dealers. You can also check out some brokers and see what type of pricing they can get you.

Can confirm got clean quotes in SoCal from multiple different trims: 2023 models 8%-9.5% (4 total offers, X5 m50m/X5MC trims). My starting point was cold email asking for a 10% discount. Would expect prices to come off further this month (another 1-2%) with 2024's hitting showroom now.

Other insights: dealerships are very quiet over weekend, and seeing typical snobby Porsche dealers offing 7% off on Porsche Macan/Cayenne; so for MY2023 inventory its definitely a buyers market.

Sounds good, very helpful. It sounds like for 2023's, it's a target of 8-10% off MSRP, plus any dealer incentives.

I'll see what they say for 2024's.

Thanks!

If your a purest (Macan S?) go with 2023's, they don't have the hybrid 48V electric bolted onto tranny.

Which Porsche dealers are offering 7% off 2023 Cayennes?

And don't go for a 2024 Cayenne S. I'm crossshopping that with a x5 60i. Both with big V8s! I don't need any more competition! 🤣

I've managed to get an offer of $250 over invoice. (about a $4900 discount) on a 50e, pretty well optioned.

Unfortunately, dealers in my area are looking at August/September allocations and that's just too far away. The market is going to be very different in a few months and I'm guessing you could just walk on to a lot later this summer and get $5000 off just by asking.

Do you have access to invoice pricing for 50e?

If I remember correctly his dealer is not giving him the correct invoice pricing but rather a flat amount. Either way he got a very good discount on the 50e.

As far as I know, they are still using the same invoice calculations that they switched to in 2017. I think they are still getting a holdback of 5% of MSRP in certain situations. Of course there can also be bonuses, sales quota incentives, etc. that they can make.

BMW US Invoice Pricing calculation
Base vehicle US MSRP (from pricing sheets) multiplied by 0.93
+ MACO fee $500.00 (flat rate applied to all dealers)
= Base vehicle US BMW invoice price

To figure the invoice price of your BMW as configured add -
+ Option and packages (anything you can add to the vehicle) multiplied by 0.92
+ Training fee of $180.00
+ Destination and handling charge - Currently $995
= Total vehicle invoice price +/- $10.00

I dont think anyone really knows for certain what the invoice numbers are but it would be helpful to know what the MSRP was for said deal? Which dealer and who was the CA?

I have a copy of the invoice, actually. I don't want to post it here though, out of consideration to the dealer that provided it. I'll see if I can PM you (my account is relatively new, so I'm not sure if I can yet).

East Bay Dealerships. They ignore you till end of month. Cayenne 2023 is a bad buy vs 2024 imo given engine upgrades (the Cayenne S is a real competitor on paper).

Got it. As I said in my PM, in the past I was told that was not the actual invoice cost but am going to try and get confirmation. It would make sense I they just listed it out like that but you know how that is. Thanks for sending it.

So are you going to share the details of this said deal? What youre suggesting is >6% off. Is that before or after incentives?

I want to take your word for it but youve been here three weeks and now youre resulting to sending PMs.

I already did share the details above. The only thing I've kept to PM is a copy of the actual invoice as I don't feel it's appropriate to share in a public forum.
