As expected, at the dealership they had no idea and didn't hear about this recall. I also search online for this and found nothing. I searched through https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/footer/quic...e-recalls.html and still no problem. So I am really confused whether I should keep driving the car or not. And I am thinking if this was a life threatening issue shouldn't BMW inform the dealers worldwide. Why do it slowly?

So Caramel, you wouldn't worry if your car might have a defect since its build date falls in the period of possible defects and already few people got a call about it? I would. And at least I need an answer from BMW that my car is safe to drive.

Should be no more of a concern than any other announced recall that does not affect your specific VIN - seat belts and Takata air bags come to mind. No more, at least, than any other unannounced part or component that could have been randomly misaligned, misinstalled, left off, bent, bashed or broken from the factory. Literally thousands of teeny, tiny pieces that could cause your car to crash, burn, shimmy, shake, shudder, blow up or leave you stranded on any given trip. I try not to think about them in the daily course of driving.

@EV77: No, I wouldn't. If the list of affected VINs is accessible on the UK site, and my VIN is not listed, then I will move on with my life.

Hey! Got a call a few days ago. BMW NA refunded my last car payment which was nice and the obvious thing to do. My car has been at the dealer for a almost a month! They said they will have more news in two weeks. Still doing testing and working on parts etc. Thats all I got!

Technically, it no longer has an open recall since you have heeded BMW's call. A recall is open as long is the car is on the road and presents a potential danger to itself or others.
