Bimmercode Disabled Assisted Driving Plus
Hi All - Posted this in another thread, but suspect this thread has more folliwing:
So I finally took my X5 in for its first scheduled service appointment. While taking it in, I also let the service advisor know of the error I continue to receive when ever I try to engage the full autonomous driving mode while in stop and go traffic on the highway (via Assisted Driving Plus). I showed him the error message (below). Net-Net, he said that the car had to be recoded, because the module that controls the Drivers Attention Camera Module was changed/altered. Essentially, something I had coded via the Bimmercode app caused this feature to disable. I suspect any coding tied to the drivers attention camera caused the coding error. The only things I coded that could be tied to this would be: 1 - Removing the legal disclaimers (cameras, startup, etc) OR 2 - Video In Motion Only other things I've coded were M logo on start-up, rear hatch, mirrors, no honk when car locked while running, etc ... none of which should have anything to do with the drivers attention camera. Just checking in to see if anyone knows definitively what coding option would have cause the Drivers Attention Camera module to change + to warn others that this could happen if you have Assisted Driving Plus. I want to re-code all of the other features, so hoping someone can shed light on this. Appreciate it.

UPDATE: Okay, I'm a doofus. It actually DID update while I wasn't looking. LOL. I didn't see in in the list of the most recent updates on my phone when I checked, but after posting this, and checking again, I see it has updated. Can't wait to re-code the "start in Sport Mode" that I lost after the BMW update. Last edited by mbarrett635; 11-16-2020 at 10:38 PM.. |

Hi, anyone knows if we can use Bimmercode to activate RDC (TPMS) and deactivate Run Flat Monitor? I tried to enable the new option, Tire Pressure Control but it doesn't read my TPM sensors. TIA

If your BMW is equipped with the RPA/FTM (indirect - flat tire monitor system) system...you need more than "coding". The RPA system uses the ABS/wheel speed sensors to detect wheel rotational difference...you don't have sensors inside your tires that are sending data to a RDC module that then sends that data onto the iDrive system to display tire pressure and temperature.

That would be a difficult question to answer without some parts research. But if you need a second set of TPMS sensors, most reputable vendors, like Tire Rack for example, will be able to sell you compatible aftermarket TPMS sensors for you car.

I would guess this message is related to one of the cameras or the radar not being able to get a clear picture/reading that affects it's ability to monitor the surroundings. If this happens on a clear day with no obstruction of cameras or radar then I would expect a dirty faulty camera or software glitch. |

I currently have a 2019 X3 M40i with Bimmercode coding done. Tomorrow, I'm scheduled to pick up a 2021 X5MC.
Will the app still work for coding the new X5M? TIA |

Yes, that is a supported vehicle. Of course you will want to make sure you get the latest version of the app.

You should see at least one of the acronyms in the Tire Pressure screen in iDrive. What do you see when you pull up the screen...what is the text at the bottom of the display? Does it show RDC or TPM (indicating the direct system that uses sensors inside the wheel)...or does it show RPA or FTM (flat tire monitor) which would mean the indirect system that uses the ABS/wheel sensors?

Will this new adapter (made for Bimmercode) do all the same functions as the MX ?

Remember when everyone still had 4:3 TVs and the top and bottom of the movie was black bars to maintain the correct aspect ratio? Even if it were possible, the only way around it would be a ZOOM type feature which would cut out a lot of the picture. |

Stretching distorts the aspect ratio, most noticeably when you see wording or objects you know are square, yet look rectangular, it will also make people look wide. A zoomed view that keeps the aspect ratio and fills the screen will display the top and bottom most parts of the picture "off the screen" so you will not see them. Peoples heads and feet will get cut off. . |

Since you have both pressure and temperature than you have TPM. My understanding is one system actually tells you info whereas the other can only simply detect that one of the 4 tires is different, therefore either flat or underinflated.
