Urban green photos I took at Sachsenring last fall that BMW M painted a F82. I don't see too many takes on it.

While this may have been the case in the past, it is no longer true. The Porsche system, right now, is 'available paints on configurator', or 'PTS (Paint to Sample)' ~$13,000 - which is restricted to a list of pre-approved options, or what I call 'REAL' paint to sample - which has the requestor providing a sample and will begin at around $18k - AND apparently requires most of that paid for 'research' with no guarantee the car will be painted in the requested color.

As an example, if you wanted a GT4 in Viola Purple Metallic that's not in the 'PTS' approved list. So, it's a porsche color, it's been done on other cars recently - but still is not included in their $13k PTS option level. IF you needed it in that color, you'd be looking at the $18k starting point and crossing your fingers. I believe, as of today, if you wanted it in Porsche Ultraviolet, you're staring up at the same mountain. But if you want it in Viola Metallic, that's $13k and approved.

Depending what car you buy, you can choose "any" color you want. Mostly M cars though. Hence my Mint Green M4, a Porsche color.

X cars are built in America, and individual colors were not offered on them AT ALL. So this is a step in the right direction.

+1, I like the color GTPM but I don't consider it worth the wait or the $5k premium

I agree Alan, Dravit grey on G05 would be interesting especially at $1080 SABI pricing and standard build time. Too bad Dravit was dropped for MY21 M340i's.

Now if new G30 colors options were available:

o Bernina Grey Amber Effect (new color) - looks close to Grigio Telesto Pearl but lighter
o Individual Aventurin Red Metallic - could be close to Ametrin but more red
I have seen Dravit on a M340, and there was a purplish hue in the bright sun that turned me off. Would prefer Grigio Telesto Pearl over Dravit.

Dravit was most likely dropped for MY21 for the M340 as rumor has it will be an available color for the upcoming G80/G82. An other possibility is a supplier issue due to COVID.

Personally, adding a 3 month lead time with possible COVID part delays is playing Russian roulette. Who knows when the car would be built?

Was considering Dravit for a future G83 order, but staying with Tanzanite. Submitted my 2021 F95 order yesterday and staying with Marina Bay Blue as originally spec. Grigio Telesto Pearl would pair well with silverstone interior and carbon fiber for a F95/F96.

Urban green would require either a black or brown interior, but some reason I see BMW of Abu Dhabi pairing this with Sakhir Orange for Christmas.

BMW Manufacturing USA expanded the paint offerings as part of the X7 factory expansion. I suspect COVID has delayed the role out of individual paint options for the X5/X6/X7 and if the X8 ever sees the light of day.

Though not mentioned on the normal configurator, BMW Individual will also do a custom paintjob for you but I don't know the cost.

Sorry, had to be said. I would love to see these colours on an X5 or X6. Someone please order them quickly

(Edit: some green pics showed up after I reloaded the thread. So it should read “This thread would be much more useful with more pictures!”)

Grigio is definitely nicer than Dravit but from a distance they look very similar.

Congrats on the F95. Marina Bay Blue rocks all of those colors by a landslide

Ebony anthracite looks so much better than wet metallic asphalt in the right lighting. The black is more of a warmish cold black with a hint of burnt sienna.

BMW Individual Manufaktur paints any color to order, BMW Individual only offer selected colors for production runs.

In the particular case of the X5/6/7 (USA-production), there was no Individual Manufaktur until now.

Indeed, I think any color can be requested. I found the G30 colors horribly boring, so my dealer had to put in a request for my choice - frozen arctic gray - and they approved it after about two weeks, and I had the car four months later.

BMW too but it depends on which factory the car is built in. Spartanburg hasn't traditionally offered true individual colors unlike cars made in Dingolfing.

That's interesting Dave. Explains why all the modern 911s I see are the same colors over and over.
