I bet they prefer non-owners to do it.

Because if a owner goes, likely they want to just play with M cars for the day, so they get $500 from you.

But if a non-owner goes they get the $500 of them and potentially $60-80k lol

And I had plenty of fun abusing their cars last year at an awesome track most will never get to drive, but not worth the drive or flight to go drive their cars for 4 hours(def not paying the $1k for a full day, $750 was enough). Doesn't sound like there is a skidpad this year as well.

i'm lucky enough to be an hour drive from one of the tracks. should be fun.

Ahh that's cool it's in the M5 this year. Oh well, it's all good since I've driven all the cars already besides the 8 series. Only BMW event I'd pay for now would be M-Schools.

I did the 2 day Advanced M school there earlier this year. Yes, it is a good track. Some might say a great track. It's all rather new, very well maintained, and BMW's facility there is top-notch. Lots of fun. If you're that close, you really should take advantage of it.

1k is crazy for the activities involved.

I went both times at $250 but they're asking for too much now.

Especially since during the laps you get stuck behind shitty drivers who go like half throttle the entire time and there's nothing you can do about it (can't pass).

I did the event when it was free at Lime Rock and $250 at Monticello. I was ok with paying the $250 because I had such a good time and got a chance to drive on a great track. The pricing now is a little too steep considering that I have already done the event at the same venue. I think if you never did one of these events it might still be worth it but now you have other more viable options. Hopefully, there will be a drop in participation and they will lower the price

Plenty of half days left at COTA. Last year they were fully booked in 15 minutes from what I recall. BMW marketing def fucked up raising the price.

Sure do. The guy who was my passenger wanted me to pull over on track at Lime Rock so he could get out. Lmao I didn’t. He got out at driver change during the lead follow and at least I got a second run, but was stuck behind slow pokes.

Definitely has me second thinking it. Only reason still considering it is being able to get some laps in a M5 comp.

Tip for anyone new going this year - try to go first on the full laps. If you can get your passenger car sick then you might just get to drive their laps too. Just saying, seen it happen...
