2018 m4 cp to 2022 x6 m cp

Hello, everyone!
I placed an order for a 2022 X6 M CP last week.
I currently have a 2018 M4 CP, which was also a custom build. I have to admit that I have never been an SUV type of guy until this past February, when my wife got a 2021 X4 M40i. (She had a 2013 335i sedan.)
After driving her car a couple of times, I honestly fell in love with it. The car has 382hp and although it is NO M4 and you really can't compare to it, I did enjoy driving it and the car is quite fast on Sport mode.
What surprised me the most was the size of the X4. I thought it would feel weird… it would feel like I was on a big truck or something. However, I was wrong. It felt great, actually.
I truly love the looks of the X6 M. I think the car looks REALLY amazing! My original order was for an X6 M, but I changed it a few days later and added the CP. I have to admit that the extra 17hp did not matter to me at all. It was mainly the looks of the CP. There is just something about the CP that makes me go "WOW!!!!". Yes, I know the difference is not drastic, but it caught my eyes A LOT more. My wife, who I have been with for 23 years, was like: "Add the damn thing because I know you. You WILL regret not getting it."
Here we are, at the age of 43 (both of us) with no kids or dogs and 2 SUV's. Lol… Funny, huh?
Anyway, I'm excited to be part of this forum.
I would like to ask you all the following if I may:

1) If you have the CP, did you get it right away with no hesitation? Or did you change your mind and added it later?

2) If you didn't get it, do you regret it?

3) What's your FAVORITE thing about your X6 M? How about the LEAST FAVORITE?

I wish you all a great rest of the week.

Thank you!

1. No hesitation at all. Felt like a no-brainer to me and if I'm anything like you, had I not gotten it, I would have been thinking "I should have just got it" after the fact...hence your wife is right.

2. N/A

3. My favorite thing on my X5M is the looks. Yes, I like the X6 too but my dog isn't a fan of the tailgate coming down on him, so X5M it was. I also think the interior overall is great! Compared to MB or Audi, I think BMW nailed it. Least Favorite...I have to hit M1 and M Mode to get everything the way I want.

How did you spec out your build?

Welcome to the club!

I got the comp package with some hesitation which had to do with the crazy wheel/tire sizes and being in the northeast having to deal with snow tires. I secured a winter wheel/tire set up before I placed my order.

I like the black trim and exhaust. The nose looks mean and aggressive. The ass, well, I'll get used to it. There is nothing not to love about this ride. I just miss my analog instrument cluster. I feel like I'm in a freakin video game.

The ride, handling and performance

My X5M is being built next week I think. I've had 7 M3/4s over the last 22 years. I'm just as curious as you about switching up, but I find myself really enjoying driving my wife's GLS and my FJ cruiser. Let's hope the X5M is the perfectly blend of an M4 and a GLS.

Congrats on your new purchase.
I have a feeling we will both love it. Lol…
I LOVE my M4, I truly do. But I cannot wait to get my X6 M CP. I'm ready for a change.

Thank you! I appreciate it.
The rear of the car is an 8 to me, to be quite frank. However, everything else is a 10 to me.

I'm most excited about not having to worry about wheel spin every time I get on it, which only happens every time I drive it. 😃

I didn't configure mine because I found the perfect combo on the dealer lot. I wouldn't have bought it if it didn't have the CP.

X6M CP here.

This is the best car I have ever owned hands down.

My car history is quite extensive too- 2017 Jeep SRT, 2018 Jeep Trackhawk, 2021 X6 40i, 2015 X6 35i, 2015 WRX STI, 2008 E92 M3, 2003 E46 M3, 2007 Porsche 911 base, 2011 Porsche Cayenne GTS.

Fun fact, the 3 X6's I've had were the only new car's Ive ever bought. Everything else was either a CPO or a bought from a friend.

Along with numerous other cars when I was living in europe in my 20's but those were all diesel errand running and going to class cars. I do kind of miss my Opel Astra GTC 2.0 diesel with 150 HP tho.

The main thing I hate about this X6MC is the rattles. There should be no rattles in a 130K car. I'd hope they would pay more attention to these than the base models, but Im sure they are built on the same assembly line with just the M engine being hand built as is customary for the true M cars. I don't know why they don't put foam on known rattle spots from the factory, but instead you have to take your car to BMW service for them to strip your car apart and put the foam in.

Another thing I hate, but unavoidable is that people don't care if you drive a 30K suv or a 130K suv...they will still bump into your car when parking or when opening doors in a parking lot. Valet's will undoubtedly take your car to the red line a few times before parking your car as well.

But hands down, the most whole, complete car I have ever owned.

Super car performance #s with near 7 series level of comfort and so much tech that you can probably launch a satellite from this cabin. This will probably be the first car I hang on to for more than 2 years lol.

Thank you for the reply!
Your car history is indeed quite extensive and it's pretty cool to see that kind of a mix.
Is the rattling a known issue for the X6 MC?
When it comes to parking, I'm one of those guys that will try to park as far as possible i order to stay away from other cars, whenever possible, of course.
Anyway, thanks again.
I really can't wait for mine to arrive.

Yea, its got some trunk rattles, rear sear hinge rattles, and front dash stuff going on. Nothing crazy, just annoying if you are in tune with the sounds coming from your car.

This is disappointing to hear. I'm on my 5th X6. Except for the cold weather creaks, all were rattle free other than my 2013 which developed a rattle that drove me crazy during the last few months.

Congrats @R-M4 !

1) Got it right away, knew this is what I wanted.

2) N/A

3) Favorite thing is the effortless speed and looks (after mods), least favorite is the brake dust and interior rattles/squeaks

Enjoy!

The break dust is also an issue with my M4. So, I'm kind of used to it. Lol…
I will post some pics once I get it.
Thanks again!

My 2019 M4 comp is getting swapped out for the X5M tomorrow or Friday. It landed at the dealer today. I feel lucky that I was able to get the 818 wheels and B&W stereo before they ran out of parts. Hopefully, I will be able to give to some positive feedback pretty soon.

It was week 35 and production was completed on September 9 or 10th. Hit the dealer in NC yesterday, 15th.
