How about winter tires - what size should i order to 20''?

The same like summer one - 275/45/20 front, 305/40/20 rear? Can i order both front and rear 275/45/20?

Thinking about trying to buy the 740M msport 5 star euro style 20” rear wheel measuring 305/40/20. I like the look of staggered, but don’t want 21” because I live in the city. Does anyone know if I order the car with the square set up, then order the larger rear wheels, will I run into offset problems when installing the 305 rear? Thx

Wheel Offset?

This seems to be the best wheel infor so far....
https://www.wheel-size.com/size/bmw/...m-40i-eudm-456,

Still no confirmation on the offsets....does anyone know the offsets for sure? My car arrives in 2 weeks and I need wheels for winter tires (I ordered with the 21" wheel and Summer tires) no good in Canadian winters....any help is appreciated.

Ordered mine with the 21" 741Ms as well. Want winters so am thinking of just ordering a set of the 20" 740Ms wheels that come stock with the M-sport and then put winter tires on them. Will be more than 3rd party rims but seems best of both worlds for me given I love both patterns and don't care to have a staggered setup all the time.

If anyone has access to the 740M part for order yet and know how much they cost it would be appreciated.

I would guess a set of take-offs on eBay won't be coming soon since so few cars have shipped. Perhaps it's because I'm old and lazy, but I would likely just order this turnkey setup and call it good for snow/ice/winter:

I would but I absolutely hate black wheels. I tried to see if they had the 740ms but couldn't find them on the site.

It's for this reason I'm getting the car delivered in April. Call Benny at Tires 23. I was there. They sourced a set of 20s that they are testing on a new one. He indicated as well they have a staggered option as well. He'll send me the details later. They were swamped today. Btw, they are backed up into mid December.

Agreed. Those have to be the ugliest BMW wheels I have ever seen!

I am hoping there are DWS06 in the 21" tire sizes by the end of next summer.

That's the wheel and part number, can probably call since they don't have everything online at this point for the G05.

The only one I found was the SCORPION VERDE ALL SEASON available at this size and they are $599 a tire!! The 275/40/21 was 'only' $365.

I have a set of older MB GL450 wheels that are 5 x 112. Tire size - 265/40/22. I tried to see if they would fit, but the front wheel would not clear the M brake caliper. I am wondering if a wheel spacer would solve this problem?

Once we know the offsets for the X5, look for a Mercedes off a GL/GLS ML/GLE or maybe a heavy S-Class.

The GL/GLS is high negative offsets like -56 to -60

ML/GLE is around mid 50s for negative offset

S Class is lower.

New Audi Q7 is also now 5x112 and same bore with offsets around -30 ish.

I looked into this. There are 2 issues.

1. Is the wheel diameter big enough for the caliper. The m brakes might need at least an 19" wheel or possibly a 20". Since you have a 22 it should be ok.

2. Offsets, the GL wheels are sound 62 mm while the new X5/x7 are around 38mm, so you need roughly
25mm spacers.

This website has great info:

2 issues:

1. Is wheel big enough to clear caliper. Probably yes with a 22"

2. Offset. Bmw is around 38mm while gl is over 60. Try a 25mm spacer.
