Hmmm..........

I read that as he's trying to say the new car won't have the same problem as they have changed, rather than admitting that the problem is because of the change!
We know the seats on your first car were not made by Lear, and BMW haven't changed from Magna since.

Typical snake-oil words from customer services.

But nice ammo to have if the new car turns up with Magna wrinkles as well

The excerpt from the email states a change in leather supplier not seat supplier. It sure how much difference different leather will make though but fingers crossed!

Oh my...

I would expect the same (w)ri(nk)(mp)els as it is 'by design for the natural look of the leather' and for 'comfort reasons'

The car is due end of May... I genuinely can't wait,

I went for carbon black m50d white extended Marino leather on 746 22" adding nearly every extra there was!

So damn excited

Why in the world would BMW "change the leather supplier", or state that the "condition of the leather wasn't what we'd expect", if it was supposedly by design, as some here continue to irately proclaim?

Nice one! Could be sharing a boat with mine!

Got word today that mine is built and awaiting shipping. Due at dealers w/c 17th May. Similar combo to mine as well! Carbon black with ivory white extended merino too! I've got the 742m 22's though and the poor mans diesel with only 1 turbo 😂

I've tried to refrain from partaking in this thread but thought that I would chime in. If your car is expected at the end of May it should be close to, if not already complete, production. Which would mean every other car produced would not have your problem. I still see 'wrinkles'.

Was you issue large wrinkles. If not, it might not be solved to your satisfaction.

I wasn't going to say anything either since it would probably touch something off again but you are correct. The email he received seems to have nothing to do with the presence of wrinkles in the seats. It was in regards to a quality issue with his seats which had excessive wrinkles. Supposedly there was a change in leather supplier so the excessive wrinkles will not be present.

dude my wrinkles were overtly excessive, back row seats left and right were not even uniform, there are pics on this thread and they were def an outlier compared to other users as well.

my new car goes into production 15th april, i am hoping given the fuss being made over it, someone in the plant will actually be giving it the once over before shipping, as i have expressively stated, i will refuse delivery out right if this issue occurs and take my money and future car orders with me to another manufacturer.

which i know they dont want as i will take alot of money and business with me.

Sounds good although got a feeling we are at different ends of the country.

I'm up near the Queen's summer residence in NE Scotland and I think from memory you might be nearer her official residence in London!?

Was looking at some dealer inventory...wanted to verify that "stitched dash & doors" were now included with X-Line builds. It appears that it is.
Ran across this rear seat photo. Anyone that suggests that this look is acceptable or "intended" is delusional.
