I sent in my build to Peter Pan in late May but never got an allocation for a MY22. I went in to the dealer in mid June to test drive an X5 and we put in an order for a MY23 just incase the allocation for the MY22 never came (this was before the MY23s were available to order online). Well, the MY22 never happened but the MY23 got a production week of week 31.

I am really happy that they had the smarts to put in that order for the MY23. The vehicle I ordered has been "In Transit" since 8/12/2022.

My experience at Peter Pan so far has been good. They have answered my questions along the way without any issues. I'll see what sort of experience I have when I pick up the vehicle.

You're west coast, so the vehicle needs to be put on a train. It'll take longer than those in the South. Chat with the Genius. They have all these answers.

Nope. I called the genius today and he said that it was off of the train in Richmond and waiting to be put on a truck. He said that from what he can tell, it is scheduled to be on a truck on 9/5/2022 to be delivered to the dealer. But that is Labor Day so I’m not holding my breath.

My production date was originally 8/2/2022 but got moved up to 7/30/2022. So it has been just over a month so far.

Thanks! This will help me on Thanksgiving holiday planning and I don稚 want to miss the arrival of the car while I知 out of the country.

I just got to status 111 on 9/1 and I知 approximating 4-weeks to reach production week (possibly w41 or even w42). Based on your timeline and Charles45e痴 (from another thread) it could take additional 4-6weeks to arrive to San Mateo dealer after the production week so that will be around early to mid-Nov for me. I hope this will be the worst timeline i can make for planning purposes but anything can happen of course.

I値l call genius to confirm.

Not sure if the transit to west coast was always this slow but looks like the BSNF automobile embargo is ending on Sep 4. So, I think that should speed things up a bit. I'm also on status 111, expecting delivery in San Mateo.

I also had pretty good experience with Mountain View (Eric Peng). Very responsive throughout the process of ordering and waiting. The only bad part of the experience was that the car was "ready" and had to picked up with one day notice since it was at the end of the month. There was a veiled threat of selling it out from under us if we didn't take delivery the next day. Also, be ready for an onslaught of AutoNation warranties and protections sales pitches.

My dealer ended up sending drivers to Richmond to drive cars to the dealership.

Status changed yesterday afternoon to "At the Dealership" so I wonder if they did the same.

I'm wondering if I should call them or wait for them to call me.

Have been going to Peter Pan for close to 15 years. First E90 bought from lot. E70 and G05 ordered. All 3 from Victor Hung. He was on sales floor in 2006, till they built a little shrine for him at the dealership and got some assistants about 10 years ago (must have done pretty good in sales).

I like the optimism there.
I saw in the other thread that your status moved to 112 this morning. I'm still in status 111 as of today. I called genius today and confirmed that my build is W41 (Oct 9-15).

My timeline started at 8/14 when I placed the order w/o allocation. I would assume that my order was placed in the order bank and should have automatically assigned a production number as soon as allocation drops.

I'm getting a little bit of line envy here. Which makes me wonder what happened to my order. Could it be my SA is incompetent? Or maybe they prioritized the customer who placed who were at the dealership at the time the allocation dropped?

I could use any extra buffer time between the delivery of the car and my departure plans (for Thanksgiving holiday).

Actually, my bad. I was working with PeterPan but since they had a waitlist, I shopped around and noticed that BMW Fairfield had allocations ready. That's where I ended up placing the order. So, you're fine :-). Now I need to remember to get there somehow to pickup the car. Hopefully you're scheduled for week 41 or sooner.

Hi zedex, did you get your new ride? How was the pickup experience? I hope Peter Pan didn't disappoint.

No. I contacted the dealer and they said that the DPI was scheduled for Monday or Tuesday but my guy is off Wednesday and Thursday. So I'm still waiting. I hope to hear tomorrow for a pickup date.

I picked up my 45e today! It is soooo nice! Beautiful car. So much tech!

The entire timeline is as follows:

6/17/2022 The order was entered for the My2023 on

7/18/2022 Received VIN (status 150) scheduled for Week 31

7/26/2022 Production date 2022-08-02 switched to 2022-07-30

7/29/22 status 153 - Entering Assembly Line
7/29/22 status 155 - Quality Check
7/30/22 status 182 - Handover to Carrier
8/7/22 status 190 - Dispatched from AG
8/12/22 status 193 - Arrived at Port of exit
8/12/22 status 195 - In transit
8/31/22 status 193 - Arrived at Port of exit (Richmond, CA)

9/2/22 Called Genius, said “Released for pickup” - waiting for truck. Estimate pickup 9/5/22

9/3/22 status 198 - At the dealership

9/4/22 Texted dealer and they said they need to schedule the delivery pre inspection which should be done in about 2 days.

Picked up 9/10/2022

Pick up was good. No high pressure sales of anything. The Finance person explained the warranties, service contracts, wheel and rim stuff but I wasn't ready to commit to any of that before researching other options. I signed the contract, wrote a cheque for the down payment and that was it.

There was some glue from the protective sheets that had to be removed and some other stuff on the hood and they buffed all that out. The CA helped me connect my phone showed me some of the important things and away I went.

The whole process took about 2.5 hours.

Overall, a great experience!

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing! I really like the exterior/interior combo. Is the interior cognac or tartufo?

Also noticed that you didn't have the m sport brakes but looking closely, the discs and calipers look as large as m sport brakes. This was my choice before but changed it to msport w/ blue calipers.

I have mineral white and tartufo interior and didn't get the extended shadowline. I'm really excited to get mine in November.

Can we decline to install the front license plate bracket? Is that installed by factory or the dealer?

It is Tartufo. Cognac wasn't available when I ordered.

Regarding the brakes, I didn't do my research and thought the only difference was the colour so I opted for the normal ones that came with the M-Sport package. I guess the red and blue ones have some better stopping power but I didn't know. Maybe next time I'll get the different calipers.

I like the look of the chrome grill better than the shadow line one. I'm not sure why but it just looks better to me.

I didn't know the dealer would install the front plate without asking. I would have not had it installed to be honest, but I came around the corner and they already had the bracket installed.

I haven't driven it much but I have enjoyed driving it and playing with the tech. I had it perpendicular park in a parking lot for me which was fun. Although, it chose a spot right next to another car even though there were lots of empty spots. I suspect it uses the cars to identify spaces. I'm still learning. Almost all of my driving has been in Electric mode.
