BMW Not Being Transparent to its Customers?

No wonder there is no official comments from BMW regarding cancelled X5 orders and component shortages.

Officially it’s business as usual if the following statement dated 13 May 2021 is to be believed!

Whoa, nice bold-faced lie from Sky Foster there.

Tempting to email the writer of that article and share our stories of the options that have been falling off our orders that are intended to be built at the Spartanburg plant.

In the interest of actual complete facts reporting, it would be great to see that "reporter" do a little more actual research work than the none done. Accepting a corporate puppethead's PR BS as "the story" is only a little above outright intentional reporting of lies.

But the puppethead is not actually really lying, just not describing the full situation. BMW has cut options IN ORDER to maintain "full capacity" operation, regardless of whether what is being built is what is actually ordered. Capacity is certainly measured in vehicles per day and not discrete subcomponents on those vehicles per day. This is not an excuse for the scumbaggery, just a good example of certain kinds of, uhm, "nuanced marketing".

Agreed, this is very nuanced, but since Sky is quoted, the reporter had to have reached out to her.

It's a bit like an airline saying "none of our 737MAXs ever crashed" when they haven't even taken delivery of one.

An email to both Foster and the author of the article, and their subsequent reply would make for interesting reading!

I'm guessing though there would be 'no comment' from Foster.
