You average speed is 121km/h => 75mph, which is very high. If these are highway cruising at 75mph for 250miles, it kind of explain the high MPG. Still very good for such a big ar. I take it this is a 40i?

After backing out eDrive miles, I get 18.3MPG for the ICE portion. Compared to your Jan summary of 17.4MPG, it is a improvement. I wonder if driving style changes, or maybe warmer weather helped?

I managed 20.1 MPG ICE in March, same as previous month. Not bad with some freeway mixed in there. Car is amazing.

Hmm, M60i V8 definitely is definitley more hungry. I think in your case, my guess is it has something to do with your trips. The average is 10minutes, so most are short local trips. And 10 minutes really isn't long enough to get engine into operation temperature. Maybe that explain the lower MPG
Average trip length is very long, more chance you are doing lots of highway commute?

Yep, most my trips are 10-15 minutes in duration so I’m sure it definitely has an effect. Of course then depending upon what mode I’m in for those trips makes a big difference too. I’ve noticed that if I’m in Sport or Sport+ those trips are usually 11-15MPG and the Comfort trips I’ll be 18-21MPG.
Rarely have any extended highway/freeway trips. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yup, the X5 is our trip car but once we get where we're going, its the only car we have so it ends up doing short runabouts as well which accounts for the 43 min ave, otherwise it would probably be a few hours. That said, I've taken it on short trips, like three hours, through hilly/twisty roads (no interstates) and I still get upwards of 30mpg in Adaptive mode.

I finally went on a road trip in my 45e in Sport drive mode, but it wasn’t very long… 120 miles round trip all highway at 65-70mph. I had a full charge starting out. the depleted the usable capacity after the first leg. during the second leg, it recharged and maintained the battery at 20% but used it up by the end of that leg. I did utilize the BMW Nav both ways
Trip Data logged 33mpg. I suspect a longer trip and a depleted usable capacity would result in ~25-26mpg, though |

So far, what I have been seeing, based on here, and a few friend with 40i, they are very efficient for such a big car. 25-27mpg for mixed 15min kind of commute of driving Quote:
But hack, even without charging, mixed commute driving, 7.6miles each way. almost 3 months average for my 45e is 22mpg. My 1 series for this same commut will do 16mpg, my e39 V8 will do 18mpg.

Had an appointment way on the other side of the valley. Had it in comfort mode the whole way…not bad for a V8.

Yes, for TT V8 500+ HP, this is very good for highway. I remember I drove my 1 series from San Diego back to bay area, so a 8 hour highway kind of drive, I got 26mpg as well. that is only TT I6 (N54) about 350hp.

Here was the return trip home. Took a different set of freeways due to traffic and also did this trip in Sport mode the whole way. Definitely lower MPG but still pretty darn good for what it is.

Does elevation play a role? Possible outbound leg is slight down hill, and return trip is slightly uphill? Because difference is significant

I personally wouldn’t consider it to be a significant difference given it was Comfort versus Sport mode between the two trips. Sport mode keeps the revs higher even at crusing speeds.
