How do I get rid of this message and keep it from popping up

6 days into ownership of our 2024 X5 40i and I inadvertently changed a setting in the last day or say that is causing a "Speed Warning" message to appear on my dashboard everytime I start moving from a stop. As you can see in the picture, I'm not even speeding and the message appears. Where can I turn this off in idrive 8.5? Thanks.

That setting is in Driver Settings, Driver Assistance, Safety and Warnings, and Speed Warning.

So I checked today and made sure all speed warning settings are off and I'm still getting the speed warning message on the dash. it is driving me nuts. Doesn't make sense why it is still popping up when the settings are turned off. May have to call the genius guy and see if they know what's going on...

Theres a setting in there to alert you when you overspeed. I bet its set to 0mph, so you get warned as soon as you start moving. You would think that that setting uses current speed limit as the base, but it doesnt. Seems like its only usable for highway driving when you want to be warned when exceeding a specific speed not in relation to speed limit. Source: happened to me as well.

Navigating iDrive 8.5 settings in your 2024 X5 40i can resolve the "Speed Warning" issue. Access the iDrive menu, locate the vehicle settings section, and explore options related to driver assistance or safety features. Look for settings pertaining to speed alerts or warnings, where you can disable or adjust the threshold accordingly.

At the top of the apps screen you can type a search query in a box; type in speed and visit everything that populates the list. I'd give you better directions if I could be the menu tree is crap and I'd have to dig through it myself to find it.

If you haven't done it yet you may want to consider going through every single app in the drawer and seeing what's there. You'll likely find some things you want to adjust, didn't know were there, etc.

It's no fun but it helps in getting things sorted out.

I found the menu setting a few weeks ago. It is off now. Thanks all.
