I am seeking to buy replacement hood and trunk badges with white and black carbon fiber look.
There are plenty of these on Ebay at a very good cost but I am not sure that the size 82mm and 74 mm is going to fit the G05.

Does anyone know what the actual size in mm is of these badges?

Are these easy to replace?

It looks like 78mm for trunk and hood. So they are not the correct size.

But like mentioned, why ???

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the G05 uses an 82 mm badge in the front and rear. I just ordered a set off Amazon for $20, not carbon fiber like you can get from IND distribution bUT black-and-white. Once I receive, I will let you guys know if the fitting is accurate or not

I measured this this morning on my g05.
The badge it self looks like it is 78 mm. The spot where it needs to be placed on the trunk and hood look like 82 mm. Maybe there is some rubber extending around the chrome making ik 82.

But for 20 $ you might as well give it a try.

Good to know, thanks. The place to measure more than anything is probably the pins that go into the hood, more specifically, the distance between the two pins. And like you said, for $20 it's worth a shot. Not sure how they will hold up in the long run but I'll probably be onto my next car by then haha.
Are you running the badges from IND on your car by chance?

I just mesured it again. It becomes a bit wider on the bottom so you re correct indeed.

Top is 78 mm bottom is 82 mm it has an edge that I just saw now with more light on it.

A quick tip...if you use one of the online part database sites like www.realoem.com or http://bimmercat.com and look up the front & rear Roundels...you can click on their 11 digit BMW part nbr and see what other BMW models use the same part nbr...and/or the database may even list the diameter of the Roundel in one of the supplemental columns. And you can also look in the QTY column to see if both the front & rear use the same part nbr (it will list 2)...or if the rear is smaller and has a different part nbr (it will list 1 or there'll be a 2nd part nbr listed indicating where it is used).

Plus, once you have the correct 11 digit BMW part nbr that fits your BMW...you can shop using that number...like you can type BMW xx xx x xxx xxx into a google/internet search box, or an eBay or Amazon.com search box and find vendors that are selling the correct size Roundel.

Okay guys, just received the "test run" BMW roundels that I ordered from Amazon a little over a month ago.
For $16.99 w/ free shipping, I am beyond impressed with the overall quality and fitment. Compared to INDs prices, this is a SOLID alternative. Pictures are attached, installation is simple, easy and straightforward. A couple of pointers:

1. When removing the old bmw roundels, I would first tape around the area with blue painters tape to protect the paint. You will need to gently pry with a plastic edge tool under the roundel.

2. The roundel comes in 2 pieces, the backing with dual pins and the logo itself. Place the logo on the backing AFTER the backing has already been applied. You want to make sure the logo is centered with the rest of the car!

3. Before applying the backing, it would make sense to apply 3M automotive double sided tape to better ensure the backing will stick with the car.

I will keep these on the car for a few months and see how they hold up over time
