Also, it is called chronograph because the hand didn't use to stop. It was more of a clock and a piece of paper was fitted beneath it and when you pressed the pusher, it would make a mark on the paper... chrono- (time) -graphy (writing). This was 1822. In 1820 he made a pocket watch with 2 hands to measure elapsed time... that was really the true forerunner to a chronograph.
I actually read that portion during my studying on the history of Breguet, his pioneered effort through that stage. I see exactly what you mean now. I also see the movement range very well, as I didn't even notice they had an animations section for it.

It's really seamless, that gearing.

Hehe, jtodd_fl Gauthier is quite new but the man has learned absurdly quick how to perfect in-house movements and sourcing. For an independent manufacturer, that's really something else (compared to Vacheron/AP/Patek/etc., who've been around for literal centuries). I didn't know the business was still so ripe.

MKSixer Verbiage a few to whet your appetites...
Lange Zeitwerk Striking Time
Breguet Bréguet Classique Enamell (the 4th variant - white gold enamel dial)
Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Day Date Power Reserve Collection Excellence Platine
Bréguet Tradition 7077 Chronograph
Blancpain Villeret Complete Calendar

Is that like, a stainless crackle finish on it, the second variant with the black croc band? I love that. Fuck.

White gold with navy/black combos are money. That Breguet. SMFH.

Here is another platinum watch where you can see the effect of the light on the hands (this one has a different dial and stuff.)
*maybe we should take this to the watch forum...

These are very high end. I wasn't really buying. They are from $30K to about $120K. There were more expensive ones... I tried to keep it "sane". Heh.

Yeah dude... that one is awesome. Let me dig up some others from the CEP collection... they are all awesome. They all have certain features - the dial type, the blue croc strap with platinum stitching... very cool pieces...

Traditionelle World Timer CEP
Patrimony Perpetual Calendar CEP
Traditionelle Tourbillon CEP for when you're REALLY ballin' - would probably reset the counter on the GT3RS fund.
