Anyone placed an order with individual paint for MY25 yet? I'm guessing it will be a bit before the first batch, just curious if anyone has seen a potential production date.

I placed an order for a MY25 x40i in Oxford Green II two weeks ago and my advisor told me that production will likely start "mid-to-late April".

Specific date hasn't been finalized yet as "the factory works to group builds of the same individual color to run together which causes some delay in getting a definitive start date.".

I don't mind the uncertainty as I'm not in a rush for production to start as taking delivery mid-to-late summer is actually best for me in light of other scheduling, travel, work, etc. We'll see how the actual timing of it all shakes out

I was similarly advised that my individual color 50e order placed a couple weeks ago would “add a couple months”.

I expect TurtleBoy’s guidance of a June/July delivery to be right. Seemed to be the case last year, but we never know what supply chain might do.

Quick update…Genius advised today that my individual color order is a week 21 build. However, this is a replacement vehicle for a trade assist with a Priority 1 designation.

We will see if it holds on to that build week.

As an update, my order is now a week 24 run, meaning mid-June production.

Anyone see/hear otherwise? Seems to be holding at week 24 from what I’ve seen/heard.

First time I buy a BMW for myself (last two were Audi RS5 Sportback and Audi S6 before that). I did buy my wife a X1M35i which convinced me to try…

Well, if you're sitting with a build date, that gives me hope, and ammo to go back to my dealer with. Though 50e allocations still seem slim.

If you have a production number, call the BMW Genius phone number. They can look up your build week.

Ask your dealer. If they placed the order and BMW granted the color/received it, they should have your production number. Seems like they would have it by now. I had mine when BMW granted the individual color request and moved the order to status 111 (when the order was formally “received”).

Called and they told me that they don’t have the X5MC allocation in the pool yet, which is why I am waiting 🤷

Yeah I was worried about that. They didn’t have an allocation and put you into their order pool awaiting one, but haven’t officially placed your order.

Allocations are related one a month but that doesn't mean that every dealer gets allocations for all models. The allocations they receive are based on a formula with a large input being their sales volume. Of course production planning by model also is a big determinant.

Do dealers get a specific "Individual" allocation or can any allocation for that vehicle be ordered as an Individual?

I have a dealer telling me he has two allocations for an M60i but non for Individual paint. Sounds fishy unless I am wrong.

There is no such thing as an individual allocation. Any allocation can have an individual request submitted against it. Sounds like that dealership isn’t well versed in how to request an individual color. I’d move onto another one.

As mentioned, your dealer doesn't know the process. As I posted in the other thread, the web site they gave you is not current so do not use that as a source for the Individual paints that are available.
