Makes no sense why BMW Manufacturing is waiting 2 weeks to close, its going to happen sooner than April 3, 2020.

Apparently Spartanburg has 2 weeks of international parts on hand, thus the April 3rd shutdown. But, this will expose the tier 1 US based parts supplier employees. I see this back firing in the future.

August is the usual model year change over date for Greer, SC production. If it makes you feel any better, I'm waiting for a allocation for a F83 build prior to August EOP. BMW NA is providing daily updates to the dealerships when the factories will reopen.

My build date was originally week 14 and then got moved to week 21 about a month ago. I haven’t heard yet that it moved again, but it sounds like our production track has been similar up to this point so guessing it will. I think I may just wait for 2021. |

One point is that if there isn't going to be any changes on the car then I'd expect the incentives on the 2020 be a lot better than the 2021 models. If not it would make more sense to just get a 2021.

That is more or less my tentative plan - ask the dealer if I can expect any sort of discount beyond the $1,000 loyalty (or whatever it is for the month of June/July) and if not, just cancel and go with the 2021. It’s also possible the 2021 has some additional options to choose from (they are very limited on the 2020 F95).

BMW might not be able to start production immediately after the shelter-in-place order is lifted.
They probably have to do a bunch of things before they can start producing cars: additional worker training and moving work stations around on the production line for safe distancing, make sure that their suppliers can supply them with the necessary components (no point building cars when you don't have engines or seats to install), and making sure that their dealer network can take delivery of newly produced cars. |

If there would be a supply chain problem I don't think they would reopen May 4th. |
