Hi all,

I've noticed that My BMW iOS app just got updated and while all listed new features and changes are there, this one I haven't been able to figure out. Maybe it will appear somewhere when I complete some trips after the update or maybe it doesn't work for G05. However, just wanted to confirm it with the others. Do you have it?

On my app, the only thing close to that I found was called My Destinations and here is where it's located.

I'm upgraded to 2.9.0 but I don't see a Trips section (U.S. 45e, so may differ between countries)

Yes, you can still access that section of the app, albeit in a different way. See the screenshots below. I've circled the area you need to press in yellow.

Nah, it's not that. Here's what the new one looks like. When I drove the car for a bit, this new item has appeared. It has instructed me to update apps and services in the car and then enable My Trips in Data Privacy menu. And now I have what's in the screenshot. If it is what I think it is - I'm very excited. Some other brands have had it for some time.

Forgot to mention. The app is 2.9.0 on iOS and the car is on 03/2022.52.

Interesting, must be a new feature. I'm using Android app, and have yet to update. Here's the content of the update


This app update includes new and optimized features, e.g.
- Customization of the app theme
- New feature "My Trips" provides information on past trips
- Transfer of contact addresses from your smartphone to route planning in the app
- New area for service and maintenance in the Services & Store Tab
- Planning weekly start times for climatisation/ventilation for non-electrified BMW vehicles
The availability of individual functions depends on vehicle configuration and country.

My app updated this morning, and that section is on the main page. I'm using a S22 Ultra.

Edit: haven't gone anywhere since updating to do anything in the car to finish setup.

funny, I got the notification about updated Data Privacy settings yesterday when running to Starbucks but didn't update my app until after I saw your first post about it this morning yet it already recorded my one errand yesterday. here's My Trips statistics since yesterday. today, my trips were to work, UPS/USPS, Walmart/Walgreens, home, school, and home. clicking on the All Trips right arrow lists each trip

Same here. Wife used the car today and it logs each trip and consumption, split by electric and gasoline. Also estimates CO2 emissions and avg speed. Nice!

Just note, the car counts a "trip" differently than the app.

I can confirm that it's working as expected. The only thing that's missing is an ability to export it somehow but even without it, a very nice feature indeed.

My app is at 2.7.1, the App Store, nor my app itself, is not calling for an update per volodp's post. I'm wondering if that is due to the fact I have not driven the car lately but that seems like a stretch and I'm hoping that's not the case.

I set my iOS apps to update automatically, usually overnight. for some reason, the MyBMW app didn't, but when I pulled it up on the App Store, it showed UPDATE where it normally shows OPEN

I'm on the latest version of the app (2.9.1) and I enabled everything in privacy settings on my car, but My Trips isn't showing up in app for me yet.

I never set anything on auto update but that doesn't matter, if there was an update for the app, it would show as such in the App Store but having just now checked again, it still isn't showing that there is an update. No biggie, I don't need it or want it but just seems weird its not showing available when others here in the US said theirs did.

odd indeed.

there's a new update today likely because of the new iOS 16 release. yours doesn't give you the UPDATE option as pictured below?

Well, I dunno.... if I were to install iOS 16, it might show the app update being available for me but in the past, I don't recall the App Store being smart enough to tell you that you could have an update to an app you are using if you were on a diff iOS version. It normally tells you that you need a different version to run a certain app or that your app is out of date and needs to be updated. Things are always changing so I won't rule out the possibility. I'm not an early adopter so normally wait till the x.1 or x.2 versions come out before upgrading to a whole number iOS version. Time will tell I guess.

I don't have the option to update the App either. When I have some time I will update iOS and see of that makes a difference. Like you, I have not seen that in the past.

Not sure how it would do it but could it only be for those with a 45e?

I'm on version 2.9.1 of the My BMW App and the 'My Trips' isn't showing up for me either...

For those of you that are seeing it, what version of iDrive SW are you on? (I'm still on 11/2021.50. I have never been prompted to shift to 03/2022...)

So, wondering if it requires the App update and a certain version of iDrive SW (like 03/2022 or newer...)

Saw this thread before I upgraded to iOS16 last night. Out of interest I checked my version of MyBMW and I was on 2.7 with no option to update in the app store. Once I updated to iOS16 I had the option to update the app to 2.9 which I did.
The Mytrips area in the app didn't appear though until after my first trip in the car - I did get the note through idrive about the privacy settings as well.
Updating the iOS and then subsequently getting the option to update the app may have been a coincidence but I don't think so...

I was able to upgrade My BMW iOS app to 2.9.0 before I upgraded iOS to 16. So probably a coincidence after all. Sometimes App Store does not warn you of new app versions and you need to refresh it manually. And especially for the last few days because of the massive iOS downloads it's been somewhat lagging.

I've just updated my (UK) Android app and I've now got the My Trips feature.
