comfort access home recognition?

News on this. Just had the i7 xDrive60 out and it has 8.5 from factory. To my surprise, there was an exclude 'home' from the comfort access setting in the doors/windows app. I set the home to the dealership address and tried it. First time it didn't work. Then I put my profile on the i7 (via the myBMW app) and then attempted again. It worked. The car did not lock or unlock as I walked away or walked towards the car.

That is good news. When you have a chance can you post the version of 8.5 that it has? We can then have someone with an X5 running that version check it out.

It looks from the video that both the "lock" and "unlock" features are included in the home exclusion which is great news. I have 07/2023.33 in my 50e and it does not have this feature yet so looking forward to the upgrade soon.

How often do the updates get pushed to the cars? Our Tesla was pretty random.

In theory it should be three times a year but in practice getting successful updates is maybe once a year on average. We keep hoping they get their act together on the OTAs but so far no improvement on it. Maybe with iD8.5.

I just assumed that’s how it worked. Apon further review it looks like it goes to your phone then you upload to car?

That is correct. When OTAs first started they used to upload it directly to the vehicle but got rid of that a few years ago. It was supposedly going to come back but we have not seen it yet.

Got my software update today because of a check engine light. Now running 07/2023.53. No exclude home yet sadly.

It should be, we got verification that it was put in 07/2023.45. Hopefully they didn't take it out or not offer it on the X5.

I’m thinking it’s not on the X5. It’s definitely not there. I watched the video to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.
