In a nutshell.
Higher map number, more boost.
More boost, more hp gain.

AFAIK, BMW haven't update the engine on 40i, so I would say it is the same as Pre-LCI.

So I was on the phone with dinan today and they told me that while the connections may be the same and it will fit the tuning or calibrations on these systems was made for the PRE Lci tune. Meaning the 2024 B58 make more power from the factory so their device needs to be calibrated to account for this extra power. I believe previously the power was at 335hp for the 2024 LCI model its up 375hp.

In that case, RaceChip will have it since they uses whatever RaceChip made but with less output.

Anyone running RaceChips GTS Black on an X40i with an AA Catted Downpipe?

Wondering if the added boost = additional exhaust = CEL light for cat inefficiency.

What mods are compatible with the RaceChip and, should we expect any codes to trigger?

Thx!

AA catted is guaranteed no CEL.
I got a few customers running their downpipe with RaceChip. No CEL reported so far.

I have Racechip Black GTS and AA catted DP on my 2022 X5 40i Xdrive. It has check engine light on.
Dealership says it is cat efficiency and doesn't change performance.
They sent me photo of cat with tiny hole in the center.
I contacted AA and they said that is part of manufacturing and won't be a factor in setting off the CE light. That there may be a break in period.
I had the dealership reset it. Came back on right away.
Every once in a while, it will start and go from A to B without it coming on, but there's no difference in how it drives with CE on or off.
I'm not going to keep messing with resetting the light.
Maybe I'll consider the CEL delete option? Not really worried or even concerned about it.
The dealership knows about both the Racechip, AA DP, FTP charge pipe and BMS intake filter.
They said I'm fine unless I grenade the engine or kill it during an overboost situation.
The X5 runs amazing and sounds great with the add ons. No regrets!
FWIW: Yes the CP, DP, and filter were professionally installed and DP broken in correctly, at the manufacturer's recommendations.

Hmm. Good to know.
I know that AA catted is guaranteed no CEL.

I have a catted Evolution Racewerks Downpipe, and HMS cold air intake, RaceChips GTS Black and the Pedal thing from them as well. I run the 'race' setting most of the time and it's very much a fun fun drive.
Did I get a CEL? Yep. Will you, even with an AA Catted Downpipe? More than likely.
What did I do? I bought the MIL CEL delete kit and had my friendly BMW master tech install it for me. No CEL anymore. However, every once in a blue moon, if I arrive somewhere and the car goes into READY mode, and I open the door to get out for just a second, the car obviously shuts off. When I turn the engine back on, it will get a CEL until I do a proper shutdown and restart...
Don't know if that makes sense.

How many miles on the AA Catted Downpipe? I’ve had them on for approximately 1,000 - 2,000 miles and get a CEL every now and then. AA has offered a replacement, though waiting to see if this “greening / break-in period” will keep the CEL from coming back on. At first was getting a 0420 code; last code was different (can’t remember off top of head), so May be it is breaking in? Good to know dealer isn’t bothered.

I now have 2,000mi on the downpipe.
I only had the check engine light reset once. I'm not sure what code it's throwing now. Runs/drives great. Not worried about it.
When I have it at the dealership Wednesday for remote start troubleshooting. I may have them reset it one last time.

New to this, but I've seen mods/chips for the X5 45e and was wondering if there is any experience with the new X5 50e. Although they both use the B58, I'm wondering what the implications are for the electric motor and if it would mess up the PHEV power management, ie. draining EV engine, causing issues with transitions, etc.

It will only improve the engine performance side, will not affect PHEV power management or function.

Is there a specific chip for the 50e or just use the 40i version?
