Considering the US is the largest market for the X5, and the X5 is made in the US, I'm sure they took American plates into consideration when designing that area like they do for all BMWs. It looks fine to me.

Damn.

So you fix the headlight connection to the grilles but you move the grilles into each other. What the what BMW!!?

Overall, the car looks way better than the outgoing one. The front looks much more resolved. overall proportions look good.

Cant wait to see it harass everyone in traffic...

I really like it, especially the interior..but the steering wheel finished with plastic trim in the so called "The" X5 is pretty laughable, hope that at least the paddles are aluminum but I don't think so. I mean, even the A-class has a better one.

Hopefully the battery technology is vastly improved over the current gen.
I'm pretty happy with my current 40e. I'm averaging 650 to 700 miles per tank. And that's with just charging at work only. If I had the ability to charge it at work too I'd easily get over 900 miles per tank. I fill up once a month so I'm pretty happy with the current car. If the new one improves on the battery that would be amazing. If I could get 30 to 50 miles on a single charge I'd probably fill up once every 3 months.
I love the car and will get another 40e, but my biggest gripe is the inability for the battery to regenerate past 54% while driving in battery save mode. At first I thought it was a bug with my car, but I've been told by the BMW dealership that it's designed that way. Seems silly to not be able to get to 100% charge with the regenerative braking.

I'm wondering why Traffic Jam Assistant shows "Expected Availability: December 2018" when it is already available on several other models. Hopefully it will just be a software thing so early adopters aren't missing any of the hardware.

Also curious to see if it will feature the Remote Parking as I don't see it on the Product Highlights sheets, as well as if you only get the Air Suspension if you order the Off-Road Package.

Very nice BMW. The F15 was not so impressive after the E53 and E70. The new X5 really brings it together nicely. This model will be very popular i think

I really appreciate that the headlights are not connected to the grille anymore. Hopefully the new 3-series will have this fixed too !

About the grille, I suppose a piano black M-Sport grille will kind of fix the issue. I know that alternative black grilles were available from BMW for some models. If not, just paint it in black, problem solved
