So the shiny black finish associated with the M Sport trim doesn't seem to be extending to the grille slats. Looks as though BMW wants to keep the slats chromed on its larger M Sport models (they are black on the 5 Series though), or you'll need to get the whole M Performance grille with black slats and black outline.

front looks way better than i was expecting, the rear not quite so much at the moment, need time to get used to the thinner light cluster. It looks slightly lower (and better) in its stance or those are 22"s its sitting on......

Does it also look like a "refresh" to everyone else? It looks great to be honest, but feels like a facelift.

Very disappointed with BMW's choice to continue to ditch the usual taillight shape much like they did on the X3. Now both the x5 and x3 look pretty good except the taillights are no longer recognizably BMW.
Inside is looking good though. Much better than the x3 and previous gen.

Notice how the G01/G11/G30 all have a similarly-designed instrument stack.
But now we know the G05/G20/G29/G14/G15 have that Porsche-inspired "many buttons" design, which includes the new (shorter) shifter, redesigned iDrive knob and HVAC controls. <---I think all these cars also have the 48V architecture? Wonder if that has something to do with it. |

Ugh...its like a pretty girl with a hot body all around but with a fugly big nose.
Honestly the rest of the car and interior looks like a nice upgrade from the F15 but i just can't get over that MASSIVE grill especially from head on front view. Alan

That interior however, gorgeous. If I could get that interior on an F15, that would be a sweet SUV.

Positives:
Rims look cool, somewhat clean simple design. Hood looks decent and aerodynamic. I'm digging the higher-end quilted leather interior, reminds me of Bentleys, it looks rich. *Thank you BMW for finally making Tinted Privacy Glasses standard in the rear! Negatives: Grills need to be Blacked out, there's no chrome/aluminum trim anywhere on the SAV. Makes no sense to have them in plastic chrome, totally over it. It really just looks like a larger version of the X3, nothing radical unfortunately. Would prefer something more aggressive exterior wise. The X4 will be our next ride. |

There are some chrome/aluminum bits left even on the M Sport: wheels obviously, exhaust tips, inside of headlights, BMW roundel surround, so it's not completely out of place. A good compromise on the M Sport would be black grille slats with chrome outline.

Can't say I like that rear end. Otherwise, it looks positively inoffensive.
