Make the front grill 1 piece removable I am all in - great for BBQ party and easy cleaning afterward in the car wash.

Looks 10x better than the outgoing model in every way. Was never a fan of the F15 to begin with but the m sport package helps it a bit.

The new one looks better everywhere except for the front. Those damn beaver teeth grills are a bit over the top.

Ugh, the rear

Love the new, more aggressive front, but I HATE the rear. hopefully it'll grow on me, I don't want to be repulsed every time I see an X5.

these are some of the worst comparison pics I've seen. x-line vs msport? that's just dumb. and then the msport they do have has performance parts that no one has and it doesn't even have LEDs.

If you want/need a third row why wouldn't you focus on the upcoming X7? The 3rd row by law of physics will always be an afterthought in a midsize SUV.

I kinda agree.

The profile is much better on the new one.
The rear is boring, but i'd rather have a boring rear than an offensive rear. This new rear is also better than on the old one.

The front is ugly. The old front is so much more balance.

Put the old front on the new car and you will have something better.

Two words: Black kidney

Overall, the new gen looks more mature and sculpted than the outgoing version. I like it.

The new model Looks good. I am curious though, how much of the interior / exterior is stock vs. fully loaded. That interior looks fantastic, but wonder if it is going to be a $8K option over the stock setup. I had 2 F15's... when my lease runs out I will probably get this or if the X7 has a better 3rd row option I might opt for that. Still looking good BMW!!

Why are they comparing the plain F15 x5 to the new x5m or m sport. (All images after the first two photos) You can clearly see the new model is an M sport or M model by the tag on the front fender and steering wheel. To me there is a huge difference between the basic style f15 x5 and the x5 m sport.

Just my two cents.

For me this is the perfect size due to our parking spot and these crowded streets here in the city... still need the 3rd row once in awhile which is nice not to lug around a bigger vehicle...

2.6 inches wider? I already have to retract the outside mirrors on my F15 to get in the garage. Going to be tight!

Comparison is not fair, 3rd, 4th and 5th pictures are not an M version and the M version of F15 is the closest to the G05 shown here.
Idem for interior pic, not fair at all to compare apples and apples.

If it weren't for those outlandishly large kidney's, I'd have said this was a very good result...

Almost like they enlarged the kidney's just so critics wouldn't say there wasn't enough of a "styling upgrade."

You're mostly right given the fact that same old platform was used. That's the real reason the x5 was discontinued so fast
Yeah I know, as soon as the F15 came out there was already whispers of a brand new platform for the X5.

I kinda have to agree with you... seems like they were just following the mainstream with everyone going with big outlandish grills... will probably lease it so no changing to black then again if I find some good deals on ebay I'll change them out...
