Researching a replacement for my wife’s 2016 X5 and had a few questions:
1) Is the MSD program still going in the re-booted form? (I Read it might only go through 7/31). If so - does the eastern region + FL/HI still apply to roll-over MSD? - our last car was leased through a dealer in Cali when we still lived there and we did a 7x max MSD at the time. 2) any incentives that you are aware of other than Loyalty, CCA, Costco? (In theory, I should qualify for all 3) 3) Am I correct in that I just need to contact BMWFS directly for a lease extension for my current lease? |

1- MSD? Gone
2- Cosco? Gone 3- Your dealer can extend your lease.

Aren't MSDs still available? At least for the North East. My NJ dealer just confirmed last week that I can still do MSDs, though they have dropped from .00007 to .00005 each now.

Question for NH_F36: Am I correct that it is not possible to order the M Sport package together with 2 axle air Suspension, without loosing the M adaptive Suspension? So you need to choose one or the other? What option would you choose?

From pictures that I have seen, there are two rocker switches on the center console: one for the offroad modes and one for the manual height adjustment.
Now my question: from your experience with the F15 or other models, what will happen if I order the 2 axle air Suspension and not the offroad package: will both rocker switches be present but the left one not functional? or will there be only one rocker switch and the other slot covered somehow? |

- Any recommendations for back of driver and passenger seat protectors? My toddler kicks the seat so much from the back and I'd hate to get brand new leather dirty and nicked!
- Is it worth it to pay extra for the BMW driving school experience if taking delivery in spartansburg or just do the delivery? - what is the general consensus for how much to try ro negotiate off of MSRP? - are any pictures available of leather dash vs. non leather dash? - seems like people aren't really opting for luggage compartment package. Why is that? |

I'll take a shot at some of these: 1. Would love to see recommendations for this too. I have some generic ones for the kids now, but would like something more premium looking if such a thing even exists. 2. No idea so I'll defer to others. 3. I think $3,000 (exclusive of incentives) or more is generally a decent discount at this point. 4. You can see it in the US configurator. Just choose the option and then go back to the upholstery and trim views and the difference will be apparent. Also, all the BMW promo photos have the leather dash. 5. Not available until 12/18. Also, seems like pretty useless tech to me. Want to know where my trunk cover has been for the last 3 years? Sitting in the corner of my garage; meaning that fancy power cover would never see the light of day. Anti-slip rails may be useful if you want to haul cargo while doing auto cross at the track, but I doubt they make much difference during normal driving. Typically when I hear something shifting around in the truck, it ends up being a soccer ball or something which the anti-slip rail won't help with. |

Per the specs on BMW's website, cargo cover is a standard feature so since the luggage package adds the auto cover I think it is safe to assume that standard is just manual.

Hi Jay,
W.r.t the above (M-sport package + off-road package/2-axle air suspension), were you given a timeline? If not, could you ask please? I am hoping it will become available here in the US starting Jan 19 onwards at least! I am envious of the other locations where this can already be done ! I read the full thread, sorry if I missed an answer to this! Thanks for your help here. |

I hope this is correct. We'll know for sure when the first cars are tested/available at dealerships. |

Embargo, Release, Dealer Training
NH_F36 Thanks for your perspective peppered across these forums.
So mine is a week 40 (w/o 10/1) build... at least it was prior to the hurricane. At the time I placed my order, CA said car would likely get here within a week or so after. Starting to wonder what "getting here" means. Will the dealer be prohibited from releasing it to me prior to some embargo date? I want to pick it up the day after it is delivered. I don't want my car to be a guinea pig for training, or have 80 CAs and techs paw it to death prior to me getting there. I really don't need anyone to show me how all the tech works; I can probably figure it faster on my own and train the CAs faster than the other way around. Please advise. Thanks!

A few questions:
1.) Does the app allow for the climate control to be set or does it only allow for a set temp? 2.) Is there a picture comparison of msport vs xline? It's difficult to tell the exterior differences in the configurator. 3.) Are all weather mats, cargo liner, etc. available? |

1- Not sure yet, this is the first BMW with OEM remote start. Will get back to you next week after I see it in person. 2- I would do an image search and compere those side by side. 3- They will be by the time US deliveries start
