Why would anyone buy this thing over the new Porsche Cayenne? This X5 looks terrible. You have to be a hardcore fanboy to pick this over a RR Velar or Porsche Cayenne...

I 100% agree. That front looks like a shortened too angular squashed nose and the back is overly bloated. Super minivan vibes here.

The Velar is small and overpriced. Just a dressed up F-Type. I’ve never liked how any of the Cayenne’s looked since first released. Looks like a frog to me. |

I totally agree on the Porsche but if you spec a Cayenne S and a 50i, its a $20,000 difference.

You can’t see any of the lines on the black G05 in this thread. The video of the white G05 at the plant shows more detail. |

Two reasons, $$$ and size
Quote:
As for the Velar, that is a smaller vehicle than an X5, so not really a direct competitor. Closer to the new X3 in size. The Velar doesn't really drive that well either, at least for an enthusiast. The Jaguar F-Pace is pretty fun though, but the interior is really cheap (I had a rental 2018 3.5t for a week recently) and the tech/infotainment system is a joke. Rear visibility sucks out of it too (same issue with the Velar). The Velar fixes the interior, but it is just too heavy with all its unnecessary off-road hardware (seriously, what owner ever takes their Velar/RR Sport off road??? .1%???) |

Can't say I'm crazy about the overall design.. but like most BMW's, when the M-variation is released I'll be turned over without a doubt!
Even with the new design, I take this over any Velar or Cayenne giving their prices. |

Why Cayenne, why didn't you just say the new Lambo Urus?

If you want a good driving SUV, then buy a smaller SUV or go with the X5M, which I think is the best in the business.

IF this answer is yes, then this is what will get me to swing 100% over to the new X5 from the XC90 T8

I like it. The only thing although small that seems a touch off is the hood seems to be a little long with the profile but im sure in person it looks legit. Im excited for this x5!
